Work party aug 23rd reiter---be aware of closure

If we could just get crash to wear that lovely colored hardhat onto any given jobsite.

On the otherhand, it's probably more visable than yours there Sam :cheer:

P.S. Nice work guys, way to be proactive!

A guy like him will get my vote (if he is in my district).

Edit: His re-election site: http://www.dougsutherland.org/endorsements.html

For the past eight years, Doug has worked hard to end the bitter environmental battles surrounding our state's natural resources. He understands that the way to do that is to work in a bipartisan way to find solutions that benefit all the citizens of Washington State.

Find out why so many of Washington's citizens support Doug Sutherland.

It seems that he is pretty pro-active to work with a group that from one perspective, errodes the environment (us) in a way to prevent negative effects to another group (the fish, fishermen, everyone down stream). Kind of a rare quality I think.

Im that guy. The guy who says what he feels. It gets me in trouble.

Ya'll did good work, That area is definately blocked off....But...

You all just willingly closed off a area of reiter.

I understand its what it will take, But its now plain and simple...you cant wheel in that area anymore. Its closed and off limits.

Bunk out!

the "area is closed"?

I thought it was just getting repaired?

It looks like the edges of the actual trail have been more defined with the Orange mesh fence which really isn't a closure...unless your a douche and can't stay on the trail.

I wasnt at the work party, but i was at the meeting. And the Orange fence blocks the cluster fawk of "trails" going thru the trees.

I took at as being closed since every entrance to the woods was blocked off.

Its gonna be wierd driving thru the tank trap in a open toyota on 33's:haha:

The areas closed are around/close to the creek.

This is being done due to excessive silt getting into the streem (index water supply so there were 3 agency's aware of the problem far before anybody else did)--and alot is being done before fish/wildlife gets heavily involved--then its really bad for EVERFYBODY..

But everything that was done was under the order of the DNR--and the only things closed are the trees between the road and SOL(east side of the creeek) and about 150ft along the creek on the west side of the creek..

There may be more to come----nobody knows... But no trail has been closed....

They are waiting for permits to fully fix the sediment issue. The DNR is walking on eggshells on this whole thing right now so unless people obey whats being done--we are all heavily fawked for using any of that area---from what I have gotten from the DNR on the subject....

i thought you could still go around the tank trap when i was there helping but i could be wrong :fawkdancesmiley: :haha:

so all the "lines" to the west side of the main wall trail right as you leave the logging road are now closed?

I don't know what exactly they are going to close along that stretch. But if they decide to close that whole stretch I will propose some kind of trail in that area as I have never liked going thru the water holes and have always prefered a zig zag thru the trees...

So it is not advised to go zig zagging thru the trees? It looked (to me, with really old broken glasses) that it was completely blocked off unless you drove up the road a bit and dropped into the tree line.

With that said if you did zig zag thru the trees i think(and could be wrong) that the only way out is into the stream.

Im just curious, Thats all.

Are you refering to near the creek on the west side joe?

And nothing wrong with being curious---ya don't know unless you ask (at least thats how I look at it)..

As for zig zagging thru trees---the DNR frowns on it due to natural resource loss because the issue gets bigger and bigger..

For example you remember what it was like a # of years ago along that stretch of trail(road) with the water holes, there was maybe 2 lines thru the trees paralell to the road--now its like 100' deep and getting wider... Thats much different than a single line thru the trees....

we rode through there last weekend, it looks like the orange fence is still up, but all the tree trails after on the east side of the creek is a cluster... it's been a few years since i made it out to the wall... but i only remember a couple trails through the trees to bypass the mud holes... maybe there should be more orange fencing to narrow out the tracks in the trees after the fencing, cause it is presently ridiculous and a free for all... alot of people really don't want to drown their bikes, trucks or atv's in the mud puddles after the fencing, but the tree line is in desperate need of fixing.

The DNR has plans for that--not sure what yet. But yes its a mess....

I thought that Dave was planning to do more along that line isn't that what you recall Crash as we were packing up? they were going to come back out for round 2? We had additional fencing, but I think they were just ready to call it a day due to the time.

They are waiting for the permits so we can go in and fix the streem crossing and some other issues.....
