its a tough thing realizing you **** canned your hard earned money:stirpot::haha:

I knew where i wanted the rig to be in the long term and eventually cut my losses with my built44 (ox-locker, 5.13's, 4340s, ctms...:puke:) and built8.8 Still makes me sick thinking about it. I got lucky, I guess, and found a buyer willing to pay close to what i had into them already. Now ford78D60/14bolt here and absolutley love standing on it without a worry...

BACK TO THE OP If the shaft was under warranty replace it... thats shitty about the locker too....

I know I need a 60. I also know I need a V8:redneck: Eventually it'll get there. I'm not loaded with $$$ and trying to buy a house right now. So I gotta choose my choices wisely for the moment. I'll probably end up fixing it all and running it until I find a killer deal on a 60. The 44 has been holding up well considering what I have put it through. I've been running 40's for 3 years ?? Maybe longer. I had one other break down with it but I ran into a tree at full throttle 2nd gear. Something was bound to break on that. Then this one was when I still off a rock with my wheel completely turned and in reverse. It may not of broken a 60 but for what I have put this thing through, it's holding up fine IMO.

You can ask anyone who wheels with me, I'm not scared of the skinny pedal to get over an obstacle. :redneck:

You would **** your pants if you knew how much I have in this axle.

Sent by that electronic thing we call a phone...

aside from the shitalkers I think your on the the right track joop. ALTHOUGH all the money you threw into that 44 isnt worth losing ur ass over IMO unless the d60 is the yrs your looking for and there isnt any major rebuilding involved....

everynow and then ford60s pop on craigs for reasonable prices. Picked up a complete kingpin 88' for $550 from a guy in belfair and have pulled a hubless balljoint ford 92 for $300 from a wrecking yard in lacey. Patience is the key and just keeping a watchful eye on craigs for people parting rigs and the inbox lots in junkyards....

Ok Joopy, I am going to lay down the experienced knowledge on ya. First off set your 44 up to be a direct bolt in for a TJ and it will sell for some descent cash much faster. At that point fawk the HP 60 and just get a pass drop 60 that way you can ditch that 231 for a 300 so you get the front dig option you wont have with your current setup. You would kill 2 birds with stone. Or you can listen to me later tell you I told you so.:fawkdancesmiley::D
