Re: 555 repair report

you know how well spray paint goes on chrome. that's what was funny, in the pics you can see the paint flaking off the chrome pillow block. need to polish that part back up. wyatt, all we need to do for lubing is drill a hole and tap to 1/8" NPT and put a zerk in it. just need to line the hold up with the grease ring on the outside race of the bearing. :woody:

Re: 555 repair report

If you ever need a wheel fixed, I have a guy here in town that does it all the time for the brothas with da big wheels. He tigs em up then puts them in a lathe and turns them back down. He also fixes scratched wheels the same way! pepper.gif

Same here, but there is a point when they wont fix due to liability. Mine was past that point apparently, but some cash and the casting, got it done. I mean its just metal, and it can always be welded back together. Its just do they want to risk you leaving having an accident and saying it was the wheel that caused it. Legal BS today, pisses me off.

Well if it happens again and no one wants to do it just send it my way. He'll give it a try even if it looks too bad.

Re: 555 repair report

we ragged teh **** out of it in the trees behind the house, and I feel it is the pump. sitting on the shop floor at an idle, it feels like low flow. well duh, its at idle. lots of arm into it to make it turn. now, put it at speed, stil ltakes a lot of time and arm. almost like there is an orifice in the system slowing flow down, or not enough in the first place. we'll see.

Re: 555 repair report
