Well I finally pulled it apart last night, not a locker issue... the fugger is missing 8 teeth off the ring gear and the pinion gear is chewed up for it. So know he knows what the pop sound was when he bounced the bish laughing1

Doods talking about swappin a 9" in instead now and all sorts of crazy... dont know what he is going to end up doing ... :dunno:

Are there any "bolt in" ready to go aftermarket rearends for the Tacoma's ? Custom housing pretty blingy type stuff ? Close to stock width ( enough so to run a spacer on the front IFS for a while to get by )

Diamond will send him one.

Just put new gears in it. Is it a built rig or what

3" lift on it... He cant make up his mind what he wants to do, he "says" he wants 37's badass go up anything and still drive it to work if he feels like. ( doable = $$$ ) and he is going to sell his blingy blingy Z71 to fund it.

He's supposed to come by tonight and hash out some options and decide what he is going to do. I told him to decide what he is going to do with the truck and let me know.. It comes down to budget as much as it does decision on building it or not.

Leave it alone and toss a new 3rd in it. I could never wheel a streetable rig again after riding in bug-gays, cars, toob rigs, whathaveya

I dont know why your telling me, it isnt my damn rig. I just want him to decide so it get progress itself outta my garage one day !! laughing1

I told him instead of going back and forth to set a budget, I have a very good idea of the truck he wants to have now after talking about it alot with him. He also came up with a figure on the budget. Now if he will actually do it thats the next question.

I was in his position at one time. I had a taco that was mildly lifted, locked front and rear, one 33's, armored, etc. I still couldn't keep up with my friends and the next step was dual cases and a SAS. (Along with new tires, wheels, rear springs, etc.) I was easily looking at $5,000 in upgrades and when it was all over I would still be daily driving a trail rig or trailing riding a DD. He's going the wrong way. He should get a new R&P for that third and stop wheeling it. Next he should find a good trail rig.

I know a guy that has a 1st gen that's ready to rock for $2,500. It's already built for abuse. For $4,000 sell his parts truck along with it. These things come with longs, dual cases, etc. They can go nearly anywhere, including trails like lower damnation, lions den, crawfords cry, cable hill, etc. It's cheaper and it's more fun than wheeling while worrying about tail lights and side view mirrors.
