What's your great idea? I have seen some really cool stuff done over the year in peoples rigs that you see and say "why didn't I think of that"

Here's an example I have thought of doing if I change lockers.
Say you have a selectable locker ARB, E-locker etc. Take a floor mounted highbeam switch from an old Ford truck and mount it next to your clutch/brake pedal.
One tap=locked 2nd tap=unlocked Hands Free!

Whatcha got?

I use two momentary switches similar to the one you speak of to control my rear steer with my left foot. I installed hand controls during the build but I don't think I've used them once, I've moved 100% to the foot controls. This was actually nwflyj's idea.

I also have an air-shifted NP205. Instead of shifters in my floorboard I just have two 3-position switches on my dash that I flick with my finger. One controls the front, the other the rear.

I had this great idea for the waterproof LifeProof case for the iphone.

Make a case that goes over it that allows the phone to float and call it the LifeJacket.

Then I found out lifeproof already makes it. And its called the lifejacket.

Guess it wasn't my great idea after all.

3 piece backbone truss on a 14bolt, not sure if its a great idea yet but it looks cool and I haven't seen one before.

I was talking to another business owner last night and had the idea for a cell phone jammer to keep sorry ass employees from jabering, texting, and dicking around on their cell phone while they are at work.

They already have those, and they're illegal. They violate some FCC code or civil rights freedom crap...

Not my idea, but greatest fawkin idea ever is the damn magnetic coozies!

I've owned 3 Busted Knuckle coozies thus far....all of which have been lost or stolen, sadly. Time to buy a couple more. :drinkers:

Although the bk koozies are bad ass they have been around for a while

that's bad ass

I've been wanting to make this for 8 years now that I'm switching to a rockwell buggy I might. I want to make a no roll back device. Like a brake rotor with teeth probaly mounted on t case or pinion. A saw blade looking rotor with a drop down stopper on a spring. Think boat trailer hand winch. Since my buggy will have a manual trans it would be nice on a hill to get going again. Could be air actuated or cable and spring.
Patooyee please build this. Work out all the bugs and give me a complete build and materials needed thread. Thank you

That's some smart chit! But that would cut out those "slam it in reverse and mash it to save a back flip" scenerios, unless you had some sort of super duper magic mechanism tied in to disengage it when the trans is in reverse. Of course, you're manual tranny isn't gonna be as easy and quick to hit reverse like a automatic anyway, so that might not affect you like it would a Tanner, Cameron, or Key. molaugh

That looks nice you did a great job.

I was thinking button or bicycle brake handle on the stick shifter so it's only engaged when button is pushed.

Why not just use an electric line lock and put the switch on the shifter? If you stop on a hill you're going to have the brakes on anyway. And it works both directions.

On Toyotas I convert the parking brake handle to pull the brake pedal down, so you've got a hand brake to use on hills or for a parking brake

My "great idea" is not off road related. It is LED Christmas lights.

For the house, under the gutter. 6 foot lengths, male plug one end, female on the other, so you can daisy chain them and run them all the way around the house. They have screw holes to mount to the fascia. After running around the house, wire into attic, then to a light switch.

When you are ready for Christmas lights, you just hit a switch like a flood light.

Stay up all year round. Use the RGB lights and you can make them any color in the rainbow, of graduated, or blink, or tie to music.

Got it all in my head, not sure why it is not on the market yet.

I got tired of replacing bulbs constantly and switched to all LED Christmas lights last year. They have been out for a few years at least that I have noticed. One end does have a male plug, the other female, but all the ones I've seen are longer than 6'. Some of mine even have controllers on them that can change the light colors, fade, pattern, blink, etc. You can also get fake trees with LED lights built in now. Lowe's is probably about to start stocking them for the season if they haven't already.

Because the gear/stopper would only keep you from rolling backward it would have no effect on forward movement plus it would be just holding a button not having to reach or worry about timing a release
