Zero turn mowers, What's crap what's good?

Here is the raptor. 54" with 100 hours. Mower and 5x10 trailer. Saod he'd sell it to me for $4k. I could probably get $600 or more out of the trailer and have $3400 in a good well kept mower. $2400 cheaper than Kubota.....hmmmmm

This is about half what I mow. I stop mowing about where the donut marks are. The rest is to the side and behind the house.

For the money its hard to beat! Obviously you're good at doing computer research on your products with all your numbers. Remember to lift your mower from the front not the back :dblthumb:! Take a look at what's on the trailers of the guys mowing for a living! You will see a lot more hustlers than Kubota for reason . Now if you're going to buy compact to midsize tractor I'd say go Kabota or Deere.

But how many of those Hustlers do you see that are Raptors or Raptor SD's? All the ones I've seen around here and on lawn forums that people use to make money with, are all the higher end Hustlers like the Fastrak, X-One, and Super Z.

I'm really giving this Raptor SD some thought. Odd that about the time I start looking at em, a good buddy has one that fits the bill for sale. Lol.

It sure would save you a lot of money! That mower would give you many years of service! If you were mowing everyday for a living I would get a fastrak or other highend brand!

Numbers.

1.) Used Raptor SD with 100 hours - $4000 with trailer and an Echo trimmer. I could probably get $600 out of trailer, keep trimmer (it's probably better than my cheap weedeater). Ultimately $3400 in raptor and trimmer.

2.) New Raptor SD - $4000+ tax which is a little over $4350 out the door.

3.) Kubota Kommander Z125S - $5779 + tax which is $6300.

Basically lightly used Raptor for $1000 less than new one and get free trimmer. And it's pretty much $3k cheaper than the Kubota. I wasn't calculating taxes on new machine in the estimation in an earlier post.

It's sounding better and better. Gonna try to go look at it before work tomorrow.

Take it home and mowed with it! He should let you try it out. Than you will have a better idea

I wouldn't pay 2k more for the Kubota. What are you getting for 2k?

The 2800 pumps are more then enough. I can go wide open reverse to wide open forward and not bog the motor a bit. And they are serviceable.

Cranking the deck up and down blows. When you get to something you need to go over push pedal and go. Adjust the deck to any height from the seat.

I know I kinda sound like I'm pimping hustler but they build good ****.

Do not pay tax. Like I said Terry's Tool will meet ya in Chatanooga sign 2 papers and roll out. BTW mine was 3800 OTD

If it is a foot pedal and repin position like an exmark, this for the win. You get to something in teh way and need to raise, just push the pedal, repin if needed. Super ass fast and never get up

Am I crazy for even considering a zt with an ezt trans? I've got a flat 1.25 acre yard. Looking at the hustler raptor or gravely zt. Either the 42 or 52 models. Both are 22 hp and ezt trans. Both priced at 2700. I just can't justify spending an extra 1500 or so to get into a serviceable trans when I plan on mowing my yard only.

Look at them beauty's and blacksheep10 is right. I use my foot to raise and lower the deck all dam day. Going over ****, turning around so it don't scalp or dig in the ground. Etc. all day .. My rt leg is twice the size of my left molaugh. But that there will cut almost 10 ft wide at about 4 + mph. That's gettin it done.
