I talked to Adam over the weekend. The start date is March 1, 2009 with a projected finish in Fall 2009.

Figured I should go ahead and start a build thread as a lot of people know the plans. No CatOutOfBag here!!!!

I am looking for without success.

1938 Chevrolet Pickup hood. Anyone knows of one, let me know. It appears most of the other parts will be fairly easy to come by. This hood is different from the Sedan and Coupe, but I think it is the same as the 37 pickup. I have a source for a Fiberglas reproduction, but prefer the original metal with the center hinge.

Also looking for someone with good Photoshop or artistic skills to do some concept drawings. I have it in my head, but need to start getting it onto paper.

I don't think he'll be back from KOH by March 1st... But it's not the start date that matters :flipoff1:

Very cool though--- I'm looking forward 2 this one

Damn board crashed when I was posting before.

I have a '40 Chevy truck hook that could possibly work. its a bit wider in the back than the '37 but is still a 4 piece (sides, and hinges in the center)
You're welcome to it, its in near mint shape as I recall. Its at the farm in Paola. Kelly could go grab it and bring it to RBD or something......
WHich would also probably be the best time for Pauls cab to come to bama as well.

What about the Camera's

Yes, it will have multiple cameras. I think I will run a single 7" monitor. The one I have on the RV will handle 4 cameras. Split screen, etc. Thinking 3 (or 4) cameras. Front dif and drive shaft, rear dif and drive shaft, passenger side camera (perhaps 2!) so I can see out that side like the single seater. I really like seeing out both side of the vehicle, and cameras should allow that. On the RV, it changes to the side cameras when I turn on the turn signal (trigger). So all I need to do to trigger a certain camera full screen is to hit its trigger. I am thinking the "trigger" cound be a small joy stick.

John, it would be pretty pimp to have a VTR on there (video tape recorder) so you could record yourself... have it setup when you toggle through the different screens it would pickup whatever's on your screen. I can look up some stuff if you're interested in that.

Monitor has RCA outs, I think. I know it has RCA Ins, for watching porn on the trail.

John and I have been talking about doing some thing for a while now, and I think this will be one heck of a show stopper when it is done. I like the fact that John came up with the fact of using old sheet metal instead of new to be different. He will be getting a hot rod and a trail rig all in one.

My head has been spinning with ideas for the build since we talked at first about it and now even more sine we talked this week end again. John gave me a package of what all he wanted on the rig and I can really tell that he and Nan have really put some thought in to this thing for sure. I think the lines of this buggy will be elegant and taste full to say the least.

I am excited to get started on the build for this one for sure. Thanks John for the chance I think we are going to come up with some thing really cool and unusual.

No, but it should be featured in the next issue of Crawl. :flipoff1:

Hell you know Adam is not going to take that long to finish, you did say Fall of '09. The next issue of Crawl will most likely be at least a Spring of '10

Check out RVcams.com . I've talked to the guy a few times about his stuff. I'm going to put some on the burb. Why I dont know just something else to spend money on. He said that everything would hold up to want I intend to use it for. The only thing he was worried about was he doubts that the protective lense on the cameras would stay sealed from a direct blast from a pressure washer.

I do all my business with Tim at RV Cams. He is great. I had a monitor go out on vacation (after warranty) I got from him. Sold me the replacement at his cost and aired it to me in Key West. Hell of a guy.
