What did you break today?!?!!

Yup... Had a blast yesterday... Lots of good vids including the t case explosion... Will try to get them all up soon... Close to 11 hours of wheeling yesterday!

Sammy busted a welded shock mount on the right front, so I pulled the shock off... Then on one if the last runs down the hill I busted the left rear spring bolt and spun the axle again... Had to re-center the axle by backing into a stump, pulled the rear driveline which slipped apart, and ratchet strapped the axle in place with two straps to get down to the trailer in front wheel drive...

I think the sammi is screaming for some TLC... Might have to skip wheeling next weekend to give her a good go-through... Replace a bunch of bolts, weld a few issues, replace some shocks, etc... I've been giving her hell since I got her with just the bare minimum to keep wheeling... I've now figured out what the problem areas are, and I should spend a little extra attention to those spots...

It was a good time for sure! No man left behind, and a ton of fun! Sorry I missed your GTG crash... Didn't make it home until pretty late...

I don't know how you keep breaking stuff. I wheeled mine with Sammy parts very hard for a year with no maintenance. Then in one fell swoop everything in the reared let go:redneck:

Just ask the guys who wheel with me how I wheel... ;-)

Nah... I think it's just a product of a 'new to me' rig.. And finding all the little 'issues'. I got a great deal on the rig... And if it would've been twice the price, I bet a lot more of these 'little issues' would have already been dealt with... I didn't do all the custom work to it... So I'm unfamiliar with what the actual quality of the work/parts really was...

I'm not complaining by any means... I just have a better understanding of what needs to be looked at/upgraded now... If I would have had a proper grade 8 bolt with me at the time... I doubt the rear leaf pack bolt would've broken yesterday, again. And if that wouldn't have happened... It would have been an 11 hour day of hard wheeling with no major failures! I am learning how to drive the rig better, and how to fix it better... And my 'failures' have been diminishing each weekend I wheel... Lets see how she does after I give her a good once over, and repair all the little things I now know to look at... All is well! Wheel on!

The most major causes for broken center pin bolts is they are no tightened enough, and/or the ubolts securing the axle to the spring aren't tight enough, causing slippage between the axle pad/spring; That slippage causes the center pin to get banged against by the axle and ubolt plate til finally she shears off---
Sometimes though, **** happens! :haha:

I attended the tough truck comp today with Crazy Daze and Super Sammi. I broke my hydraulic ram, popped my steering shaft out of the orbital, lose steering of course. And might have blown a head gasket. That's the carnage as of now. I'll probably find more when I decide to clean it. :redneck:

I wheeled mine for years on sammi gear..... I'm not real hard on stuff. That said-- locked with 33's, good for a busted front shaft on almost every trip. :awesomework:

I think the way you set up yours( and mine) solves this issue.:awesomework::beer:

Lift blocks **** out causing the axle to rotate and take out the 14 bolt flange, 1410 joint, new driveline and the pinion might be bent. The 465-205 power sleeve broke too. Good times!

Yeah, I would like to have an Orion, or swap in a D300. Both are way out of the budget right now, going to have to swap in another stocker for now.
