Well it looks like I'm over due for an update. The engine and drivetrain are in the truck turn key ready! All the Lexus wiring, electronics, steering column, and shifter center console have been retrofitted. Everything fit exceptionally well into the 4Runner! Now I will be moving on to install the fuel system, cooling system, braking system, fab the front driveshaft and fab the dual straight pipe exhaust then she will be ready for a good ol' V8 beating!!! :driving:

Been rollin down trails on 40's with duel cases and ALL stock internals for almost 10 years. I don't plan on rockbouncing with it bub! It's all in how ya operate yer machinery as to how well it all holds together. A little common sense gets you a long way in a TOYOTA too! But like I said in this thread all ready, I will run the stock components until they get yardsaled then upgrade. :****:

I got the shifters mounted and finished up the center console retrofit. I ended up cutting the double den head unit out to make it fit the way I wanted, oh well, no fancy radio! I installed a Davez Offroad Performance triple shifter kit and customized the shifter handles with 1" hand wrenches!

I'm not trying get you upset. It's just simple math. V8 + 8" ring gear= KAPOW. I get you been wheeling Toyota **** for a long time. Not with a 1uzfe. There is a reason I stopped using Toyota axles. I got so good at setting the gears that I started breaking the pinion shaft.

Well I guess you're right. I was never very good at math. So what should I run with a 200 horsepower monster 1uzfe? Do you think rockwells or 14 bolts will suffice? :dunno:

Mmmmm angry this one gets.

:rolf: I totally dig this build, behind you 100%, but you gotta understand where he's coming from. A few of us have been there already. No sense in waiting til it yardsales 4 miles back in the woods 200 miles from home. It WILL ruin a weekend. I've broke on day one at Harlan, a 2 hour trip for me, and it will feel like you literally drove to another state for no reason. Just trying to save a fellow wheeler the same heartache we've felt. Lighten up broseph, take constructive criticism for what it is. :dblthumb:

I believe people arent seeing the overall big picture of this project. My goal is to have an all, or mostly, TOYOTA powered rig. This a build thread, not a troll other peoples project and tell them what you would do/change instead thread. I really don't understand why, but It burns some people up when they see things done differently then what they would do, and they HAVE to give there .02 cents. Don't get me wrong, I'm a very laid back and passive person, I welcome all comments and suggestions from anybody. However, I'm guilty of criticizing people's craftsmanship as well, but I typically keep negative thoughts to myself and encourage people's attempts. Haters just gonna hate I reckon!

Re:

Get over yourself. No one is hating, just giving their experiences using small axles with more than stock power.

If you don't rock crawl when it's rained the past week, never bump ledges, and don't mind pulling winch cable to preserve your drivetrain, then it'll hold up fine.

I went down the 200hp v8 Toyota road once, about 10-12 years ago.. Hence my screen name

All right all rights all right! this thread is starting up now! Getting some of the hardline big :tc in on it finally!!! Yes!!! Hey man to each there own! That's why I'm here documenting my own! Ya dig?!
