19.5's on a Stock 8 lug dually

Eagle Wheels now makes a stock 8x6.5 BP 19.5x6 rim. I'll be rocking those pretty soon.
Not sure what rubber, but Michelin 225/70/r19.5's or the next size up.
I can get the 4 aluminums for around $850 ($212/wheel), but the inner steels are impossible to find. Cheap I've seen is $260 a piece on them. Makes me want to run Aluminum inners as well. Any thoughts on that?

We run aluminum inners and outers for lower weight and so we can rotate them all around on the service trucks. But they weigh a little more than a 1 ton truck.
 
Dad was telling me that the Eagle 19.5's had or have problems with cracking. Might look into it. He was thinking about buying a set, but heard that and backed out. Les Schwab by his house in SLC had warrantied a few cracked ones. Weld is also making forged 19.5's with the stock 8 lug pattern.

I think they are 22.5's. I love those pointed lug nuts. That is a bad ass truck, I always check it out when I go to BTF
 
I think Dans rig looks the best out of them all. 22.5s no lift, black on black, SICK.
 
That guy was parked at lakeside (freshman dorm at bama) my freshman year 2 years ago. Had 46" mickeys then, and no front shaft, at the time the dude went to auburn ??? Truck makes the hi lift look like a no 2 pencil. it was a WOW in b ham a couple years ago too, I dont know why.
 
I can get the eagles cheaper, but they are rated for 2800#, wtf. the tires on my duallys are 3kish each and on a 19.5 are half that again. I don't see making a wheel rated under 3k and a tire rated at 5k. anyway, I'd look at forged welds. I think I have a nice hookup on them as well, so hit me first wyatt.
 
ur right, there is no way to have a fuctiioning shaft at that angle anyway, I wouldnt think
 
Well here the facts are on the 8x6.5 wheels out there. (Excluding Weld, they are just too ugly for me)

American Eagles 19.5s
Cast Aluminum, 2600lb rating (Prone to cracking)
Mounts require the sleeved/shouldered lugnuts to mount them. Additionally: for ease you can as they did on Heaths, sweat a piece of machined chromo over the rearaxle hub and effectively hub center the wheels.

American Force 19.5s
Forged Aluminum, 3500lb rating
Mounts using stock hardware, bolts right up

The Forces are $150 more per rim than the Eagles. That is $365 compared to $215.
Thats $900 difference on a set of rims.

You all may laugh at me, but I think the $900 is worth it for a forged vs. cast and the increased rating. Just on the rear of the truck that is a 3600lb rating difference. 14,000lb compared to 10,400lbs

Now throw in tires, and over the grand scheme of the whole package the difference as a percentage isn't all that INSANE.
 
Agreed Kelly, I was all over the cheap Eagles, until Gillespee said they crack out, then when you compare ratings...........

I'm going to strap the 245's on and rock out


Any idea on the Hankook DH01 Traction Tires? Do they ride good? Michelins are so nice from what Ive heard but they dont make a traction style tire in anything smaller than the 265/70.
