2008 Hardline Winter Ride, Wooly's & Wheelin In the Country, TN, February 15-17

Date is set for 2/21-24/2008, same schedule as usual (Leave Thursday and come back on Sunday)
Mayhem is up I-59 & I-24, about 3 hours away. We would ride there on Friday and trailer over to Wooly's Friday night. Stay near Wooly's on both Friday & Saturday nights and ride the park on Saturday. From Wooly's back to Bham it is about 2 hours.

The reason for the combo ride is that both of these places are one day parks, so we would just be riding the same stuff over and over if we stayed at one or the other all weekend. This is a short trip that is an easy all interstate tow. I hope everyone can make it, it should be a lot of fun. This is the closest travel trip of the year and it occurs almost 4 months from the last travel ride (WindRock).

I'm looking forward to Mayhem. I made plans to do the TN media run there but things got altered and we went to Aetna instead. :

Do we want a trail guide for either place? I've got a couple buddies who know them like the back of their hands.

I would rather not do trail guides and keep it just a club run. I think both places are easy enough for us to get around on our own.

We need to talk about this ride tonight, these places are actually not even remotely close to each other. In fact they are over two hours apart. WIC and Wooly's are 22 miles apart and it looks much easier to make that work.

So I started trying to plan the Woolys/Mayhem trip today and logistically it is a nightmare. The two parks are 125 miles apart with no interstates between them, so a short trip that everyone can make would of ended up being a 9 hour round trip cluster. Mayhem is only 85 acres, in the middle of nowhere and the nearest hotel is 16 miles away @ $100//night. Summertown (WITC) and Wooly's are literally 22 miles apart and they are both right off 65. 4 to 4.5 hour round trip keeps the ride within the original goal of being close and convenient so everyone could attend. We voted on it tonight and everybody was in favor of replacing Mayhem with WITC for the Friday location. I will post up lodging info and details soon.

Mayhem would be a good trip to do in combo with a Monteage run as they are much closer.

WITC has cabins onsite that would be perfect for us and there is an Econo Lodge 8 miles from Wooly's for $70/night. The distance between the two is 22 miles so about 45 minutes travel time. Would you guys rather stay at WITC on Thursday and Friday night, and trailer over to Wooly's on Sat AM, or stay at Wooly's on Friday and Sat nights and travel over on Friday night? My vote is stay at WITC 2 nights as the cabins are in the park and we can hang out and party and not be in a hotel parking lot.

I need a headcount for who is planning on riding Friday @ WITC, so I can get a cabin big enough for everybody. That have one that sleeps 4, 6, and 8. I am in for WITC and will have a passenger.

WITC all the way. Much better PARTY place. Plus you can night ride.

Alright guys, this ride is turning into a cluster. The new venue for Friday, Wheelin in the Country, is closed that weekend which includes camping and cabins. So unless we pay 1k (yeah right), we cannot wheel there. Are options are to move it up or back a week, or just ride Wooly's both days. I have heard that Wooly's is not a two day park. We could always do something like what Keith did in Nov. Wooly's the first day and the KOTH course the second day. Give me some feedback on what you want to do as we are a month away right now. My vote would be to move it back one week to Feb 29th-March 2nd.
