Look at the DOT number. The last 4 are the week and year. Example 1213 is the 12th week of 2013. If it only has three digits, then it is pre 2000.

Honestly, with a 10 and 12 bolt, I would not groove them. Get it running and driving before you worry about more traction. I am the worlds worst about stalling on a project.
