BDrakes Jeep Build " Completed "

Re: BDrakes Jeep Build

Shelley is from Tennessee, must run in the water up there.... The rear truss was shipped to Athens, Georgia not Alabama and it is on the way to the house now. The old cage is out . I will be cutting new floor plates out today. And hopefully if things go as planned start bending some tubing for the cage by the end of the weekend. I will also try and get a picture of his parts up. I use all RuffStuff Link Brackets which are heavy duty 3/8 laser cut brackets.

Re: BDrakes Jeep Build

I like RuffStuff's " stuff " and Dan is a great vendor to deal with. All the tabs on the chassis side of my rig are his ! thumb.gif

Re: BDrakes Jeep Build

He makes some sweet parts. If you ever call Dan plan on talking for a while though. Great Guy. I have been a dealer for him for about 3 years now.

Re: BDrakes Jeep Build

The truss is still not here but I have moved on to the cage. I got the rear hoop done and put a little inverted bend in it for strength and the 2 door bars completed. It has great lines and plan on getting some bracing and front bars added tomorrow. I took some pictures but don't have time to post them yet.

Re: BDrakes Jeep Build

i didnt do the bullshit square tubing on the rear bumper back there...
and thanks for talkin ****...

bradly, you've seen my work so you should know better than to say i did that scabbed ****...

:flipper:

Re: BDrakes Jeep Build

If that is implied to me I don't know who did the work as in the very 1st post. The cage didn't have 100% welds either. I was just simply showing the booty fab that was taken off of it. If someone sneezed around it , it would have probably fallen off.

No **** talking here either. Posted proof above...................

Re: BDrakes Jeep Build

Alright here is the pictures of what I got done to the cage so far.

I plan on getting all the bracing done today. And possibly hook up the outer links on the rear axle.

Re: BDrakes Jeep Build

All right I got most of the top done. I am adding a gusset to the middle of the two bars running up from the dash and some dimpled plates on top. Still like the bar behind the seat and tying the seats into the cage. But it is coming along pretty good.

I didn't like the way the bars running from the middle of the dash looked. So I spread them out and will add a gusset for added strength.

I got to get some more tubing tomorrow and hope to finish the cage by the end of the week.

Nice work bubba ! :dblthumb:

Thanks,

It takes me more time due to my schedule but I enjoy this stuff. I got some pretty slick ideas on gussets and can't wait to start cutting them out.

Alright I got the truss in so I am holding off on the cage until I am done linking it. Here is some progress pics with the Truss and Lower Links on.

Very close to ride height. it is 30" maybe 32" max when finished to bottom of tub.

This is a fully boxed truss 3/8 thick inner then a complete box made out of 1/4 . Plus when I am done adding my little touch it will be stupid strong.
