Dad's stang...

Good to hear Mike. I cant wait to hear that your dad has beat this and can enjoy many years of driving that beautiful car. :awesomework:

Update time.......

My dad is doing really good. His #1 thing is photography and he's the main guy for our county fair. They are having a deal going on this sunday and is feeling great and looking forward to it.

I have a bunch more parts.

The new rear bumper. The lic. plate lamp now makes sense..

Its ready to go on but I hopped over to other items first.

I got the new fuel sender. I didn't realize it but the float was full of fuel on the old one. I have not seen that in years.

dad544.jpg

Thats all installed

dad545.jpg

My dad also got a new radiator--this one is a 3 core and should do the job nicely. I did a test fit and its going to be perfect.

dad546.jpg

And yes--I will have to paint these also, lol.

dad547.jpg

So tommorow night I will try to get that all done.

I have all the trans parts except the 1st/rev gear so its getting closer.

Well this looks better don't ya think, lol.

dad548.jpg

Got the new rad installed. Its definitely bigger but the fitment (once I got what holes to use) was very nice..

dad549.jpg

Had to make a new drain tube out of some 1/4" tube.

dad550.jpg

Got the rebuild kit for the tranny

dad551.jpg

The 1st/reverse gear was shipped on weds so it should be here soon. In the mean time I am going to get done what I can on the tranny. I am also going to get the area above the tranny undercoated. Its getting closer.

Super cool love the green....looks like a whole new car ....good video editing too i like the zoom in fade aways haha reminded me of TV shows. :cheer:

So I got the new horns in and guess what--ya no worky.

dad552.jpg

So I pulled the horn button off and No voltage at the contact. hmmm. I am going crazy I think because I know I did before. So turned the steering wheel and I have voltage at one little spot. So I pulled the steering wheel and the horns work with manually crossing contacts.I looked over the old/warped steering wheel and pulled the contact plates.

dad554.jpg

Well the fix was pretty simple--I just had to shim the contact plates a tad, reinstall and works like a champ. I am sure my dad will order a new steering wheel after driving it for a while.

I got all of the tranny parts cleaned up and some painted. I got it assembled as far as I could till I get the last part so it should be a cake walk to get it done/painted and thrown in. I also replaced the slip yoke bushing. The old was was in wrong, lol and It was super simple.

dad555.jpg

Ya I finally got the rear bumper on. Ya it totaly makes the back of the car and also now has a working lic. plate light,lol..

dad556.jpg

dad557.jpg

So with the rear bumper on I put the trunk back together. Ya dad got a new tire cover. It certainly cleans up the trunk.

dad558.jpg

He also got a NICE car cover. Its one of those felt layered jobbies.

dad559.jpg

I guess the building is done where the car will be kept--I will try to get some pics..

Bumper Looks Awesome Mike! One thing, is the lower valance loose in the one pic, or is that gap just there?

Unfortunately thats a gap. That was a OPS. When CT replaced the quarters he didn't relize the restamps were wider at the rear bottom and never thought to fit the lower valance after the fact. The only way to correct it will be either strip it/cut and widen it or get a new one from the same company.

Thanks Kev..
