how did it feel when you rolled it with your harnesses mounted so low on the back?

Me and the wife felt fine. Not really sore at all. When I am in the seat my shoulders set about the same level or a little lower. I set them up like I had my XJ . No Complaints here.

hmm i always thought that if they were mounted like that it would feel like it is compressing your spine not holding you straight back if they were mounted straight back behind the seat.

I have had a couple rigs like this including my rzr. I have a bad neck and back and feel no added pressure from the harnesses.

Mine mount the same way and come through the upper part of my seat (CARBEAU SEATS). They feel more like you are being pulled back into the seat rather than being pull down. A good hard roll could make you soar, but then again, I'm gonna try to not take flying lessons like the green Jeep at our park off an obstacle ;D

I was able to get a little more done. I still have to hook up the fuel cell and a few more little things like wiring up the brake lights. I would have made a few changes and if I was the one who done the tube bottom section of the chassis I could have done it. I know it is much stronger than the rear factory bars was and it's all tied into the frame. I will be doing body work over the next couple of weeks and getting it ready to paint. I really like the burnt orange. Here is a couple of the nearly completed pictures of the rear dovetail.

Well I worked off 3rd shift Friday and picked the jeep up from my house. My father-n-law has a paint booth, draw back it is in Loretto, TN . Drive an hour and sand on it till around 7:00 . Washed it and pulled it in the paint booth. Saturday got there at 9:00 paint booth temp is kicking around 90-95 . Got everything taped off and cleaned again. Here is some pictures of the paint job. The only dents I removed was from my flop at mountainside. Everything else stayed like it was.

This is the side of the hood that was caved in. I got most of the dent worked out. JR Hall Should remember how bad it was.

All I like now is painting my rock rails and putting my winch back on. Also touch up some of the black painted area as I got some over spray on it. Anyone got any front turn signal housings? One of mine is broke, I don't have turn signals but I need them to feel the holes up.

Thanks, I learn more every time I build one. I would have done a few things different but for me doing all the work myself with basic tools I think it turned out good. There is a few things I would do different but I am a pretty big critic. Oh and no more RED!!!!

Here is the video of my flop. Couldn't get to the shifter quick enough, as I need to build a console and relocate it closer. This flop encouraged me to do the dovetail.

You are right, first scratch is going to hurt. JR Hall has already said we are going to flip them right off the bat New Years. I am hoping he is wrong. I am tired of working on it. I plan on going to the StonyLonesome Park in Cullman the 27th. I am thinking there won't be much to beat it there, and then New Years at Wheelin I should be ready to go.

For your info called Stonylonesome this morning and they have put the opening date off till February 4th. She said the weather has held the parking area up.

Well it figures... Well guess I will plan on the 4th.

What color is that? I am trying to find an orange right now and it always help to see a color on a vehicle instead of a sample.

Dupont Hues Color is Copper Sunset. It is 87.00 a quart not including clear coat, etc . I had them scan it and it turned out to be a Honda Orange. I can get you the number off the can. I went with a Dupont single stage fast dry acrylic paint. I got a gallon of it for 135.00 and then a gallon of sealer 35.00 . I didn't have any runs and it coated very well. Some oranges you have to spray 3 coats to get it to cover good. The same card I have of the Hues matches what they scanned pretty close. Enough that if you move it around in the light it is the same.

The Dupont Hues Paint would have costed me over 400.00 when said and done. That is just for paint not sealer or clear coat. I estimated it cost me around 250.00 for paint, sealer, tape, etc.

Well thought I would update this thread. I rocked it out at Summertown , WITC ride and it did great. Of course I will not be able to tell until it gets a flop/flip etc . But the complete dovetail made the jeep. I got some compliments and I am sure some people would have done it different. There is some stuff I would do different. But for my first dovetail , I can say I will rock the **** out of it. I got a little body damage on the passenger side door and rear quarter. I beat the quarter back out and just put a coat of paint on it. I am going to have to paint the hood again. All the mud clumps being slung from JR's Mud Whomping and a few others left it looking like a turd....... :puke: So I might get creative and try my hand at a little custom paint work. I will get some wheelin pictures up soon.

The pics dont do it justice, not the exact way i would have laid it out but it looks really good dood and I thought it looked good in person ! :dblthumb:

Your gonna have to get over that paint thing sooner or later buddy ! :woot:
