It worked perfect... He was still taking loads up when we left...

Sorry I couldn't help this weekend. I was at PIR all day working the pit for my buddy that super bike races.
Is there any pic's of the awesome work you guys are doing? We got another race tomorrow so I can't make this weekend and I wanna see.:beer:

There's certainly lots still to be done. Corey is staying up for the night and Jim, the guy who made that mini sing and dance, will be back to work all day tomorrow. Between him and Corey they should be a really good chuck of the small to medium size rocks moved, placed and dug in.
Ralph's big excavator was kicking butt but only 1 hour into the job, a high pressure hard line blew on his hydraulics and the day was over. I talked with him tonight and he pondered trying to jury rig a repair to go back up tomorrow but with other stuff on his plate, we decided that it was better if he fixed the damage properly so that it wouldn't blow again. I think the rocks at the end of the 9 road would have been all gone if Ralph had been able to work through the day.
Corey's trailer was the BOMB and loading rocks on with the excavator made everything slick and fast.
James, Dave and I, with some help from Hoss, spent several hours hauling rocks and logs from alongside the Rainier Vista hill climb. We littered the trail with rocks of all shapes and sizes. These's are not buggy stoppers but they'll hold hold most smaller, open diffed rigs. We picked out a number of good sections for making difficult obstacles based on the availability of bypasses and winch points. It'll be quite a while getting all this done, be we are so on the right track.
We decided not to move the massive pile of rocks from the bottom of the hill climb, up to the top of the hill climb. Instead, we're going to use the first couple hundred feet of the trail and make a massive gatekeeper, rock garden obstacle that I think all the big boys will enjoy.
The last little section, right before the rock bowl, I am going to nickname, nucking futs. This is what we'll be working with when Ralph get's back up there. This is where the biggest rocks will be going and they won't be place in a very friendly manner. There will be a bypass, well maybe, we may change our mind as that get's done :haha:

It might be a weekday when we can get Ralph with his big excavator up. It could even be this week if I can find someone to go up there for the day to help guide him. I won't be able to go but I'm hoping that I can get Jaydog to go up as he probably has as much or more experience than anyone of us in building these obstacles and trails.

Sorry I forgot my camera, but most of the day yesterday was spent getting rocks on the trail but today, more work will be done on the final placement. They need to be dug in.
A lot of these are now in the spot where they'll be on the appropriate section of trail, but still just piled.
Hoss drove up Rainier Vista yesterday after we dumped a ton of rocks without any problems. I believe he is running 36" Irok, could be a tad taller, crawler cases and dual lockers. He had no problems with did have to work it bit.
We're doing our best to have this trail live up to the expectations of a trail that required 36" tires, dual lockers, winch and body armor as the recommended equipment. It's not going to be designed so that everyone can get up the trail, just like not everyone can do the busy. When this plan was put together, the goal was to remove and easy trail that was virtually unused and replace it with a trial to rival the busy and take some of the wheeling pressure off the busy by giving the big rigs somewhere else to go. The other great feature about using Rainier Vista is that's it is FULL SIZE friendly.
I have no idea how to build this kinda trail. But i have a great idea what would be difficult for most rigs. N i happen to be free this week let me know if i can help:awesomework:
