Went to Kansas City to visit my best friend that fell on some hard times this week. Left Friday after a guy came into town to buy my VFR
Peeled out around 3:00 and hit my buddies house at 7:00. I slabbed it hard this leg so I could get there and grill and have some beer. It was a great weekend, did some fishing, golfing and had some good BBQ at another friends.
This morning much to my head thumping telling me to stay in bed and nurse this hangover, I got up and had some biscuits and gravy and loaded up to make my trek home. Forecast was for rain all day, but I was lucky to only hit good showers until the last hour of my 6 hour trek across MO.
I didn't really see much until I got into NE Missouri around New Boston, MO. Some twisty stuff there. Roads are in horrible shape and lots of loose debris on it so I took it pretty easy. This pic is right at the start, it gets far more twisty a few miles up the road. This is county road J
Little did I know this nice pavement ended and turned to gravel. "How much can it really be" I say. This lasted for 5 miles and the last half was fresh gravel and was not fun on this pig.
Even the cows thought I was nuts.
After this, it was pretty normal backroads with nothing to really see. Rain off and on and the roads are littered with sand, dirt, mud. My bike is so dirty I don't know where to start with cleaning it SOME to make it look respectable.
So my trip home was a whopping 40 miles longer than slabbing, but took 6 hours as opposed to 4 and I am just fine with that. Good times. :rider:
