Re: October 2009 Ride @ Monteagle, TN

Guys we need to call this the 100% trip, because we would really like to get everyone there. Monteagle is fun and scenic and about 3 hours away. I will get Jimmy to guide us again and I am sure we will ride Monteagle and Iron Gap also. He said there are lots of new trails! Please make plans to be there. It will be a full weekend trip and lots of fun!

Monteagle in October..... **** son, me and my girl / girls if someone will have a seat are there. That will be a gorgeous time of year and the wheeling is spectatular ! :dblthumb:

Re: October 2009 Ride @ Monteagle, TN

Exactly the reasoning. Beautiful place and we are going to wheel the Monteagle side this time with all the waterfalls. Guys add this one to the calendar. It is about 2.5 hours from Bham to Monteagle. Short and very scenic tow. We did it last year but only had one day of riding.

As far as logistics, go up whenever your schedule allows. People will be riding Fri-Sun, but our guided rides will be Sat and Sun. Several are planning on going up Thursday and riding around the cove some on Friday also.

Re: October 2009 Ride @ Monteagle, TN

Hey guys can you post up what weekends you have free in Oct and Nov for this ride? Cole maybe post up the weekends you have off. I have a conflict on the planned weekend and we talked about killing the Windrock ride and just doing this one. Hopefully we can get a good turnout

Re: October 2009 Ride @ Monteagle, TN

im off Oct. 24th and 25th and the weekend of the 31st there is a Grayrock ride that weekend. also Halloween.
Nov. im off weekend of 21st and 28th but that is RBD.

What about late sept? Like the 26-27th?

I can't do the weekend we have planned because Jen has a work conference I did not know about.

I have that weekend marked as Summertown Hardline Ride, so yes, Hardline already on the schedule then.

Yeah this ride replaced Summertown as a venue but we moved it back a week. I think Cole has off that weekend also. Leaves will not be as pretty, but should be fun. So let's make sure that Sept 25-27 works for those that are going.

John is going to check on the hotel cost and put together a total to be collected in advance. This way we know how many people are going before the week of the ride. We settled on Monteagle because it is a 2.5 hour tow and free to ride. So cheap and close to home is the goal to get PARTICIPATION. If folks are still not going to attend, then I think those that are committed should pick where THEY want to go. That may end up being Monteagle, but it could also be Harlan, Windrock or Hot Springs since it is a weekend trip.

Re: October 2009 Ride @ Monteagle, TN

As long as we keep it as Friday-Sunday, I'm good. I'll have class I'll have to go to before I can leave on Friday so I might just have to meet up with you guys anyway.

I am IN.

I suggest the Budget Host Hotel, AKA Regency Inn. It has good parking for all our trailers. When I was there with Keith B. we drove to the trails from this hotel. All hotels in Monteagle have bad reviews, and this one is no exception.

For an arrival on 9/25 (Friday) and departing 9/27 (Sunday). The room rate including taxes is $77.36. This is based on two people, two nights. That is only $38.68 a night including taxes.
I told them I would collect in advance and make group reservations. I estimated 5 rooms needed.

What should be our cutoff date for getting the money to me? I think the deadline should be our next meeting, August 4th. That is 3 weeks from today. That should give everyone enough time to plan.

I am in.

I thin the next meeting is a good deadline also. Thanks for taking the lead John. I will need a room unless someone wants to split one given that it has double beds.

Im In , we going to be riding a different area in Monteagle then last time or the same ? Guided or un-guided ?

I think we need guided in a different area. The waterfalls are great. If we only have a few rigs, like our past rides, then we should not do the ride at all. We need early commitment on this one like our two most successful rides (Tellico and Windrock).

Can't wait for this one. Never been there, but ready to ROLLLLL. :driving:

Anybody riding this weekend or next? :dunno:

Jimmy will guide us Sat and Sun. He has confirmed that and he will be showing us the true monteagle side with the waterfalls and all that. He said Damn Locals has cut a bunch of new awesome trails there. It requires permission from Damn Locals to ride, but Jimmy is getting that for us.

Edit - So for those riding Friday we are on our own as Jimmy has to work. We can probably run down to Iron Gap (where we went last time) or Hale Mtn (which is about 30 minutes away) for those that are riding on Friday. I also thinking night riding is allowed in Monteagle so we can make that happen if we want to. I am giving Jimmy from EOR access to this forum so he can see the info about this ride and give us some insight.
