I need some advice from you guys who've run these tires. I want to know what you guys think about them. Who has them and what do are your opinions about them. I know there's a tire post that ask's what tire and would you buy another one. I want real personal experiences with these tires and tell me the pro's and con's. If I get the IROK's it'll be the 42x14x17's and the Krawlers would be the 39.5x13.50x17's. They will be on a 3200 lb buggy and I already have a snow rig so I'm not worried to much about how they'd do in the snow. Mostly rocks and the other types of wheeling.

whichever is the street tread. I had a vendor of the pirate board quote me the Krawlers for only like 100 more than the 42's to my door.

That's closer then i expected......I thought the Krawlers were much more expensive??

The red label Krawlers are very soft and work awesome but you have to replace them every year.

It's my understanding that only the Comp. guys can get the red label 39" Krawlers. He's probably quoting you on Blue label which is the more conservative compound.

I run Krawlers (only 35's though) and I love them. They worked killer in Moab, walking up lines that guys in similar rigs /w Toyos and MT/R's had problems with. I honestly don't have much experience /w Irok's, though. I've had very good luck /w them in the mud and snow as well. If the price really is that close, my vote would be for the Krawlers.

yeah it was the street tread which i would assume would be a lot less expensive. I would guess that I'd be able to find a way to get the comp tread if I wanted to but the price probably is just crazy. I've seen how well the krawlers do down in moab (I was running my 37 toyos down there) and they just rock in that kind of terrain. I saw a guy in a stretched out Jeep make it up Dumb Bump in reverse (I about crapped my pants when i saw that).

My 2 cents...

The next tire I buy, other than the red label krawlers I have now, will be a TSL.

IROKS suck...that's my personal opinion based on 2 years of wheeling them locally, the last Goldendale event, Tillamook and Bend.

If you don't mind, please explain why you dislike the irok

Krawlers are only a moderatly descent tire in the blue version. The reds totally kick ass, best tire I ever owned. My vote would be IROKs hands down. As mine were about 95% worn and I still made it up mud/rock climbs that boys with new 39-42 TSLs had problems or didnt make it up.

thats so funny you say that because when you had the irocs all you would say was how good they were and how great they held up.:haha:

I personally like my irocs alot they are not going to hold up as long as my sx's but I dont care I will buy another set when there wore out:redneck:

Personally id do the Krawlers, I am now finally done judging the Iroks and i dont think they do well on the rocks...everywhere else they work good.

GIMME A 40-42 INCH SX GAWDDAMMIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

True...when I first bought them and they had sharp edges, but after wheeling them for some time I found they did perfrom as well as my previous set of TSL's.

Yes, as a rugged, reliable tire they hold up fine and a I have nothing bad to say about the strength and abuse that they will take.

The only reason I went with the IROK in the 1st place is becasue at the time I could not get a 40" TSL for a 16" rim...only the 39.5" IROK.

Something else worth pointing out which is no myth...regardless of rim size (15, 16 or 17") airing down the IROKS in order to increase sidewall flex to a point which makes them perform better cuases the inner bead to leak air or come off. I could pull the stems on my TSL's and never worry about leaking or loosing a bead, this would be on the same set of rims.
