Is this a good deal?

Well the seller got tied up with some medical stuff with his wife today...so the plan is to go pick it up Sat morning.

Yeah I could've got that Cherokee on here for $2500 but between all the horror stories I've heard about the unibodies and D30 front axles I decided to go with something different.

And again all I've ever wheeled was full size Dodge trucks so that's what I'm most comfortable with. It has a 4" lift already and I've got some 15x10's w/35x12.50's that'll bolt right on it.

I had countless unibody issues with my grand Cherokee. Damn near crumbled into pieces. I picked this up as a beater and could not be more impressed. You just have to get used to the creaks and moans of a unibody.

As for the 30, yea, they suck. But honestly, if you don't try and melt the tires off and be smart about it, they'll hold up for the most part.

Looks good. Looking forward to some more pictures from a little further away :P

Heck ya. Congrats. Now you can gut that thing and put an ls in it. I can hook you up. It'll give it a little dependability for ya. :flipoff1:

No really congrats. I'll be looking for a build thread.

Hell, put 2 Honda motors in it......call it MOST RELIABLE RIG EVAR build! ;) I know that engine bay will hold at LEAST 2 2.3L 4-bangers. :)

Haha, y'all :JRich: are crazy!

Really, thanks though....I'm pretty excited about it. It's been a couple of years since I had a rig to take out in the woods. :driving:

It won't be much of a build thread but I will do one for y'all. :dblthumb:

Usually build threads suck.....this ASSupmtion going back to my teenage years with imports all the way up till now. I can think of only a handful of "build threads" I've ever seen come to fruition.

I never saw a completed thread in the import forum world....saw maybe 2 in my Mustang life.....and like Pholmans thread here and maybe another. I did one on my old blue Cherokee. It was a build thread that went from 700$ drive it home Cherokee to D44/8.8 on 37's with EXO in like 2 months.

I think alota folks on here are more methodical and financially savy. I never understood how a 18-25 year old could do a "build thread" and have it be remotely worth watching. When I was 18-25 I was broke as **** and only had 1 reliable vehicle that got me to/from my jobS.

In my opinion, there is a huge difference between "build thread" and "adding parts as they break". I'm more of the latter....

Moparguy....you seem pretty solid so I'm sure whatever path you take it'll be the best one. I give you ****...but I give respect when it warrants. Just the way you post on here I can tell you know what you're doing.

Haha, thanks Tony....yeah I know you, pholmann and a few others like to give me **** about being a Mopar guy, but it's all in good fun.

Yeah there's gonna be a few quick things that I'm gonna do with it But it will be an ongoing process of changes for a while.

That's a sweet ride!

Thanks man, I'm gonna take some good pics before I clean it up real good and put my other wheels and tires on it.

Oh yeah, earlier in this thread I was asked about engine, trans, and transfer case. It actually has the fuel injected 360 which is a pretty rare option in these things. And it is the A518 4-spd auto...I haven't looked at the tag close enough on the transfer case yet, but it does not have a slip yoke so I got lucky on that.

Congrats on picking up the new rig....you should make the GMP Hardline ride a debut!

You got the best factory power & drivetrain option available.

Thanks. That was my plan but I was just informed by the wife the other day that she has to work that weekend....so that means I'm stuck at the house with the kiddos all that weekend.

Yeah, I was pleasantly surprised when I found out it actually has the 360 instead of the 318....only that would make it cooler was if had the NP435. But manual trans Ramchargers are extremely rare...and to be honest I don't think they ever put a manual behind the 360 in any 1/2 ton pickup or Ramcharger.

Looks like you could fit a bunch of kiddos in that rig. Take em with ya!

Haha, I would if I could....I've got 5 kids with oldest being 10 and the youngest is 20 months. Not really the kinda load you wanna take on a long road trip and then spend the day wheeling and road trip back home. When they get a little older that is the plan though, especially my 2 boys.

Re:

Sounds like you got the best possible drivetrain combo for a ram charger.

I'd have to make some quick detach lexan side windows! Them big pieces of glass might make one ride if I was driving

Thanks Nick, yeah I took on a little trail tonight after I put the 35's on it. It does really good, but will be even better once I put the 4.56's in it.

Haha, yeah that would be nice. I'm gonna try to not beat the body up too bad if I can help it.
