ha, ****er, but seriously my Aluminum Featherlite already has 12k on it. I've only had it since Sept and it was brand spanking new.

not to say that either hasnt happened... just that you dont have pics laughing1

Wyatt R teh cool drool

Wyatt you could easily downsize with your featherlite and light rigs. I am going your way Paul, back to a 1/2 gasser. I don't tow but once a month and I don't have a trailer to pull two rigs. Tired of borrowing, tired of filling up at trucker pumps, tired of paying 60cents more a gallon. Tired of all that ****, don't need a diesel for what I do. Sure it is cool, but who fawking cares. I think you would have to use a diesel truck for work EVERYDAY to ever get any value out of it

We had this same conversation back when you bought the HD . laughing1

Id go 3/4T gas burner like James Dollar did... His truck pulls way better than mine , the 5.3 will do it but you gotta be patient on hills and in general.

I could easily downsize, but then I couldn't tow like I do. Currently it is effortless, I dont even know I'm dragging anything back there.
I roll 80-85mph always. Caravaning with me sucks cause I'll walk away from you, and not look back. Not cause I want to, but my truck actually sucks around the 70-75 mark. Having to plan hill assults and flooring it as you approach the bottom, or racing down one hill to barely pull the next, SUCKS and is dangerous. I can pull a grade and come out at the top faster than I was going at the bottom and not be phased. Like I said effortless.
Cabot drove a bit on the way back to Houston from Gray Rock and was blown away, he said he had to think about it that he was actually pulling a trailer.
If anything I will probably be upsizing to a crewcab dually Duramax the end of this year, and getting another trailer. I'd like a 30-34ish enclosed aluminum gooseneck, with a small LQ in the front. That way the wife and kid have a home base and not be in a tent or hotel thats a long ways away. I'm envious of Shirleys 48'er. But thats just WAY to much trailer for me, and I would hate driving that land train across country.

WOW this thread got way the fawk off track.

Matts old HD / now Joes HD is like that... I was amazed when I drove / towed the Turd and Matt's Jeep back from Clayton how effortless it was with as much weight we were rolling. Friggin awesome thumb.gif

Yeah this thread is typical of our board! Diesel business is just not for me, tired of the hassle for the "pleasure" of towing once a month and pulling in 9.5 mpg no matter what when doing so. Daily commutes suck in the cost and I am just tired of it. I can put that money wasted in fuel towards other ****. Looking fwd to getting in a new truck next week. Very thankful I bought from a good dealer like O'Neal who is going to buy it back from me even at a loss.

I love my 1/2 ton with the 6.0 and 4.10 gears. Damn thing pulls strong, but loves gas. I can increase my fuel milage a bunch with driving syle. 7.4 to Tellico. almost 12 pulling same at 70, and letting it slow to 65 or so in hills. Rather then 80-85 at 5 grand!!!

I get about 12.6 daily driving, but hardly any interstate, all in town stuff.
