thanks, I want to see it going too, Its come a long ways there is still quite a few little things to do but its getting close :awesomework:

Well I have some updates, yesterday I got all the steering lines hooked up and got the TC pump mounted into the factory aluminum bracket what a pain in the ass that was to get the pulleys lined up perfect  got the orbital valve mounted right where the factory kia steering box was mounted. this engine bay is running out of room fast but I think everything is going to fit hopefully. Then three trips to the parts store later I had a belt that would work on it

Then today I pulled the shackles off and got them all finished up I welded a 1/4" plate across the face of them and took a piece of 1/4" 2x3 angle iron and cut it to fit on the back welded them all up and threw those back on. then the oil filler was made for a van so it was like 3 feet long with all kinds of crazy bends so I cut it down and welded it back togeather, it comes out of the valve cover right under the intake tube so the bends worked out pretty good. then I mounted the steering cooler to the radiator and got it all hooked up I tried to leave enough room above it for the trans cooler to mount above it because the factory A/C fan mounts right on this side and Im going to put a thermo switch on it to kick on when the trans warms up. I think thats about it you can see in the last pic how tight its getting in the engine bay but its all going to fit . I still need to get one more line for the return on the power steering pump so Im going to have to run down to williams but Im hoping to here it run before the end of the weekend.

Well I know its been quite a while since an update but I have been working on it. Its running now the trans-tcase is all mounted up. Just drivelines, brakes, shocks and guages left. Im hoping to have it out in a couple weeks playin :awesomework: I was hoping to have it flatbellied but it didnt happen it just caused about 400 other problems and I didnt think an inch was worth all that extra effort.

Any updates on this fawker!?!?!:corn:

Its all done I've been terrorizing the neighborhood for a couple weeks now. I gotta do a little bit more trimming in the rear wheel wells tomorrow and then get my trailer in and put a deck on it to haul it around, cause the full hydro is a little scetchy on the road. I did swap out the knuckles for 6 shooters with trunnion bearing eliminators. Im hoping to take it up to elbe sometime next week for a little harder run on it but so far so good. I will get some pics up when I get my computer running again.

NICE!!! I talked to Chris yesterday and he told me you had her goin! I'm off again until after the New Years so I think I'm going to tackle a 5th stud!

I'm hoping for a "shakedown" run Wed if I don't hit any snags. Keep in touch:awesomework:

Nice Chad! Can't wait to see that beast up and running!!

The tranny I bought was f-ed but I had Willie Strange tune-r up. I'll be stuffing it in Monday and tying up loose ends Tues. Fingers crossed" I'll post up Tues night either way. Might have 2 other toys coming too! Hope to see ya Charlie!

I guess Im gonna be busy Wed-Fri  I might have to go up on Tuesday. Mine has a little less power than I thought it would but 40s and 4.10 gears could have something to do with it. and Im used to having manual trans too but I can tell that this auto is just gonna spoil me on the trail  good luck tuesday.

Here are some pics
This was the pima shock hoops I built for it after stuffing everything into the engine bay clearing the steering wasnt real ez

Next the rear the panhard bar leveled up like i hoped it would after a little driving I also had to cut the outside of the upper panhard brace cause the tire was getting close enough to wipe the dirt off the sidewall so i trimmed 3/4" off. and as promised I welded a brace across the framerails so the panhard bar doesnt rip a hole in the frame and leave me stranded. Thanx CRAZYS for the suggestion :awesomework:

Here are some more

I ended up building a square tube driveshaft for the front it will get me by for a while I tried building a stock slip driveline for it and it still fell out so I took some box tube I had laying around and whipped this thing up no vibe or noise and I took it to about 50mph so it will work for a while

View attachment 47452

Here are a couple of the cab I got the right side of the tunnel rebuilt and goth the factory kia shifter to work on the th350 and cut the toy stick and made it come out in the factory spot it all works great the only thing I cant get to work is the oil light but all the other guages and dummy lights all work like they are supposed to.

this is the linkage I had to build to make each gear in the trans line up with each one on the shifter it took a couple tries to get it but its workin now. and yes thats a leak at the linkage evertime I fix a leak on this damn truck another one pops up somewhere else

the rearend was getting a little more axle wrap than I wanted with the rubber bushings so I swapped the upper out for another creeper joint and it is alot better now plus it makes it alot esier to adjust the pinion angle.

View attachment 47457

and a couple pics of the rock lights I think Im gonna put a couple more on but we will see

I've been running the Kia shifter in my YJ with an AMC TH400 for a few years. Nice to see someone else did the the same.

Nice watching the build.

Now go out and wheel it.

BTW, Porter has a Sportage he's selling cheap if you need a spare body.

I figured why replace a perfectly good shifter with one that doesnt fit as well, I was going to get that from porter but I got shut down by my other half I was thinking about getting it just for the doors, glass lights etc. but until I get rid of a couple I cant drag any more home I guess. I gotta go get some more gas for it then I will be out beating it again after this weekend Im getting my trailer fixed up and this thing is gonna get beat atleast weekly :D

Are you going to post pics of your shakedown run? The people need to see the KIA in the snow.

Well yeah

The first run went great everything worked perfectly right up until I had a cheap hose clamp decide to break on the trans cooler line and it blew off and lit the thing on fire luckily I had enough hose to be able to cut out all of the burnt line and stretch it far enough to get it off the mountain. But the weather was awesome so working on it wasnt so bad.

Here is us getting ready to load up in the morning
