06 f350 12v. Truck had 38k when the Cummins went in. Has about 16k miles of towing with new set up. Started life as a 2wd single wheel. Old and ugly but she don't ask for much

I've got a 2000 f450 straight drive truck I'd love to swap a 12 valve in. How bad was it?

Really wasn't bad. I got it as a basket case and already had all of the DCS bell housing adapter, motor mounts, and alternator adapter to run the ford alternator. Had to make hydroboost lines, and come up with radiator hoses. Biggest thing for me was transmission tuning, also from DCS, but you wouldn't have to worry about that. She tows like a dream. Does your truck have a 7.3?

Does your truck have a 7.3?
No, mine's a v10 truck. I'm slowly putting together parts to do the swap, it's not cheap. Not to mention I'll have to buy a transmission also because you can't get a big enough clutch in a gas bellhousing. I love the truck, just looking for the power and reliability of the 12 valve.

From an '02 7.3 to a 2014 6.2
Love it so far. Plenty of power although much higher rpm's. Much quieter, smoother and turns way better.

Sold this one a year ago and regretted it. Had to buy it back when it went up for sale last week.
2000 6 spd leveled with 37's.
That is a very good looking Dodge.

The opportunity to buy something back doesn't happen often. My previous Jeep LJ came up for sale 2 months ago and really had me thinking about it. Good for you that it worked out.
