Lets talk clutch problems.

normal I guess. Its a new slave and master, there not going to feel like my old set-up. But you can tell its right. I'm being lazy and have voted to do this **** tomm night. :booo:

Why not? Unless you changed the displacement of either there would be no difference in the hydraulic/mechanical ratios hence no difference in feel from before the slave started leaking.

Did you take the pressure plate and disk off and look at them? If you didn't it's possible you have a chunk of material or a spring loose in there.

The master is 100% perfect, clamped off the hose, pedal hard as a rock, the slave is bled too. Its not a hydraulic issue at this point. I know this 100%. worse case scenario is my tranny broke, but at this point in time that is not likely, doesnt brake just sitting in the garage. This only leaves the clutch assy. Which is the only thing I haven't replaced.

Right, we've established that. Now, did you disassemble the clutch when you determined that it was in good shape or just peer in through gaps and holes? You didn't specify so that's why I'm asking, I don't think it's your tranny. If you took it apart are you sure you put it back correctly?

Is there an inspection cover that you can watch it through while someone pumps the pedal?

no inspection cover on a AX-15 :booo:

Well you got me stumped then. I'd take the pressure plate off and verify that everything's ok in there since that's where the problem seems to be. Maybe some fluid got in and ruined the disk.

Some Jeeps have a little plastic divot on the tip of the clutch slave (new ones don't come with one. You have to reuse the old one) It won't work right w/o it.

ok just finished pulling the tranny. I do believe I found the problem. When I unbolted the pressure plate I expected the clutch to fall. But only the pressure plate fell. The clutch was siezed to the flywheel.

I had to use a flat tip and pry the clutch off the flywheel.

I had the pry the clutch off with a flat-tip. It was stuck pretty good, It should of fell........

The rivets were all loose and exploded on the sides. I'm figuring the Elbe trip caused this.

Kinda makes me wonder if the degreaser I sprayed on had something to do with it.

Wierd. Looks like I owe you a nickel.

Great pics.

Yep you do. :flipoff: But it's not together and running yet. The clutch plate really stuck. I couldn't believe it. But now the tranny is being a PITA linning up by myself.

If you want, I can bring in my tranny jack to use. Even be glad to lend a hand. I'm at work till 7 or 8 tonight, so if you want, lemme know and I can swing over tomorrow AM for a couple of hours.

Do you need to resurface the flywheel?

Thats what I have right now. I got something in my eye when I cleaned up the flywheel. All I did is hit with a round hone. The flywheel didn't have any divits or anything, just surface rust that you can see in the pic.

I'll get it all back together tomm, hopefully. Gotta let my eye either work out whats in it or heal if I scratched it.

If you need help Wed., lemme know.
(originally posted Tues., but I forgot I swapped days off this week.... got Wed off if you need help)

I plan to have this done tomm or atleast finishing it up moday and finally making it over to Pat's.

Fawk! I was gonna say, we had an older 70s Porsche that sat for a while in storage come into our shop that had the same problem and it was the disc rusted to the flywheel. Too bad you found the problem already, I wanted to be the hero!
