Little Gibby's 45 MB

Do me a favor dale. when you get a chance---sit jackson down with his back against the wall with his legs out and feet up. Measure from the wall to the flats of his feet... I am just curoius about a few things.....

As for the sliders--we need to find one that doesn't have the tilt built into it....

The straight slider mount doesn't have a tilt built into it.

I'll do those measurements. I'm curious as to what difference it will make since he's only 7... He already drives my big rig and no, not on my lap.

I hooked up plow disc behind it to work on my farm. He drove it around dragging the discs. He loves the mud... imagine that!!!!!

He MADE me play in the mud the other day. I need a pressure washer just to see my PAINT again LOL!

Ok---I must have looked at the wrong slider---duh....

On his football sweatshirt, his nickname is "Little Gibby" but I fear I'll be little Gibby in a few years. When you're 6'1" and 260lbs, that's something I expected to hear.

Is he playing ice hockey yet----has dad told him about those olden days?

Well, he wanted to but alas no... For a kid to play hockey here, if he's any good, he has to play in Canadian leagues. That means travelling to BC for weekday games. 3-4 hours each way and then a 1 hour game on a Monday night...

Whereas football, there's LOTs of that around and while I hate to admit it, he's destined to be a lineman. When you see him run, you'll know what I mean. He was a started noseguard as a 7 year old in the 89er division of the CJFL this year. 7 years olds don't play, let alone play on the staring team. He was the only 7 year old to actually see real game time this year. If I don't sound like a proud dad yet, just wait LOL!

The T-90a has a 2.79 first gear. Not really a difference. I saw the model in the thread, the T-90c does have a 3.34 first, but they were fairly late.

I have never heard of a problem. The only stronger one is supposed to be the T-15, but it's bigger.

You know, I had a T90 in a '61 Willys Wagon, Chevy 250 six, 4.27s. It held up for me. It's NOT a bad tranny. That was 20 years ago, I wish I had kept the wagon after I blew up the rear end, if I knew then what I know now... I probably wouldn't spend money on a T-90 for this build, though.

Edit: Another thought, what about a T-14? It was behind the early Buick V-6's in Jeeps. Not a bulletproof tranny, but probably good enough with the high gears. Could be hard to find, though.

If it were mine and I had my choice of tranny's I'd definitely go with T-18/19, SM420/465 or NP435 or T-98. Something with a granny low gear from a truck. It'll last forever........

So I am putting along.

So since I made some verticle tubes off the c-pillar that dove into the rear lower cross bar--I felt it was important to add one more cage support tube. So I lopped a hole in the floor and ran a verticle tube down thru the foor..

So I plated where the stock crossbrace and rear crossmember meet and made a mount for the tube to sit on..

So I didn't feel that the C-pillars had enough strength to them on a hard side hit. So I thought long and hard and this is what I came up with--and for some reason these 2 tubes were just lil bastards to get right on the $$...

I went and also added a spreader from B-C--plus will give a good strong location for tie down mounts down the road

I also got a few stringers on the A&B pillars done--getting closer

Are you planning on pulling the motor again? I'm going to get as SM420 but I need to get an adaptor to make it fit and that sucker's expensive!

If so. I'd like to take the shell, clean it all up and get it painted. I'm leaning toward line-x on the whole thing.

I don't know as what point in time that would be best done.

Just keep it in mind as you're working on it, if there'd be a good time to drag it home for a week or so and get that done. I'd like to get the body and cage line-x'd while it's easy. I could do a little body work where needed when you're done with all the major work.

Probably a few weeks out---but I can yank the motor if need be(not a big deal). I just got my tranny jack back too so I will be yanking the tranny/t-case out also...
