That thing would look good on a set of custom cut Hooisers.

Hell Yeah, I would love to do that just for the Hell of it. I can't wait to see what kind of course you guys come up with there.
If I am off I will try and make it.

There you go. Thats a sweet set up for sure. F'N Jimmy and Rodger could get some serious air time on that track.

I think the idea of a series encompassing surrounding parks is the best way to do it. We have been working this way for a couple months now. Thats why i started the Right Coast Racing Association. I want to see parks help each other, because we are all in it together. GMP helps promote the race at "x" park and "x" park helps promote the race at GMP and so forth.
Like I told Toddy and Droopy the park owners can build the courses. The park owners can advertise the hell out of it. The park owners can spend a lot of money pulling the deal off. But we cant make the competitors show up!! Thats where it takes the commitment from you guys to be at each and every event you can possibly make. If I advertise a local comp saying there will be "x" amount of competitors there and only 2 show up. I've got pissed off spectators and so does every other park owner. The spectators will not come back next year. Thats my fear.
I want the series to be fun, low buck, competitor friendly and spectator friendly. It also needs to be taken seriously by the competitors and other park owners.
The series can be a couple different types of events. I can hold a rock race in the infield. I can hold an endurance (koh style) race through the woods on the 12 mile loop we have on the property. I can host a king of the hill type comp also. The RCRA will host all those types of events, and they all dont need to be on my property. They need to be diverse in location and terrain. I have rocks. The other guy may have dirt hill climbs. Marvin that owns Mayham Offroad park & I spoke about this last weekend. His place is perfect to get into a king of the hill series.
I'm in. I invite any other park owners/managers to call me and bounce ideas off each other 931-644-9917.
The way I see it, the more places to ride the better likely hood of more folks getting in the sport!!!

Sound like you have thought a lot about this Rocky. I say lets push it foward and see where it goes. You said it all though when you said if the racers dont show up to race, the crowd will not follow it from that point on. Before we throw money in the air, lets get an idea here who all is willing to race their rig? How often are you willing to make races? How far will you travel to do a race? Is it worth the time and effort to put this all together for a handful of racers? Let me know your thoughts. I will give you a shout soon Rocky.

Willing to race...

I could do every other month

anywhere within 2 hrs...

I hope so.

I know I'm a long way from racing. With building, testing and getting a feel for a new rig. But all that said I would love to race it. I would travel the state, and even to TN. I'm like JR I hope it would be worth it. ??? If there are spectators following these events I don't see how it couldn't work.

I all ready travel the to many different states Motocross racing . This would be no different .. Id be down for it when i get my ride together .. hitit

im in, but i think when planning the races you should consider the effects the weather will have on the race. when it is wet, marvins is just to hard to race at. unless you like statagic winching( i dont). i dont think weather would matter as much on the track at gmp. anyway you look at it this could be great fun.

Nothing in Ink but from what I am hearing looks like Oct. 17 may be the date. Gonna get with Rocky this week and get a plan together.

Toddy

I was about to post up and see what the deal was! Please let us know when the date is set.

My nane is Steve Truman Rockwell 1 on the board. I have Teamed up with Rocky at GMP to put together a weekend full of offroad racing including rockcrawlers,motorcycles,4-wheelers,utvs,CORR type 2 wheel drive trucks and dune buggys. Our goal is to form an eastcoast endurance type rockracing series held at parks through out the Southeast. We have a lot riding on the first event and can not do it without support from the wheeling community as well as other parks, shops and vendors. We are definitely looking for sponsers. If this event goes well(we break even)we will work with other parks to form a series of races with a champion at the end. We feel if we can make this as exciting as watching Wes,Timmy,Adam or a lot of other southern skinnypedal junkieswe can fill these parks with people and the purses will get bigger and the entry fees will get smaller. When someone from out west wants to see some woo pow they go to madram thats the excitment were after.I dont have a lot of details yet give me a few days The date is Oct. 17 as Droopy posted. Thanks Steve

Thanks for the Props man. I hope this all works out. I think it would be awesome.

Now that we know it is a sure thing lets come up with the course. You know what it looks like from the pics so let here so ideas.

Toddy

Rocky is talking about a flat track 4wheeler race so we might be able to include some of their track for the fast stuff. We will take care of the jumps. This might have to be a race adn jump off at the end of the rock race. Rocky wants to have lots of different stuff going on so he can get all kinds of people there. People might come to watch a 4wheeler cause they know what it is and might stay to watch the buggys and love them and make sure to come back next time.

Toddy

Details are posted up in the trailride and competition section.
Thanks for lookin
Rocky
