Agreed, and I like Brian's solution as well... Friday pre-run/test/tune/tech all in 1 shot would be a pretty good idea.

Have test dates at the tracks, if a team chooses to go test then they can. It is hard to do that though when the owner of the land is a racer as well.

....and I don't think it's a big enough problem to move the race to an alt. location or tell the land owner he can't participate!

That is the way Nascar does it for all of their series. They have designated dates and tracks that teams can schedule a test session. Obviously every team will not test due to many circumstances. When they go test at these tracks they of course have to pay for the track time to the owner of the track. Testing is an expensive side of racing, but the knowledge gained is well worth it in the end.

how hard is it to turn left? :flipoff1:

I don't know bobby, that's one steep left turn... think she'll make it?!! laughing1

You tell Mr. Dennet that Ricky Bobby is my best friends and it's shake and bake time. Damn the torpedoes!

My 2y/o niece does the knuckles and says "BAKE N SHAKE!" lately. hits your knuckles so hard she ALWAYS says "owe" laughing1

I was out a Colorado springs a few years back, the week after the race. You couldn't even tell where the lines were. No matter what you do the home team will always have an advantage. The only two solutions to IMO is nobody gets to prerun two weeks prior to race time, or on the designated race course. Or everyone gets a prerun the week prior to race up to tech time.
If this was nascar we could hire drivers to get our cars to the events then fly in the day before on our sponsors money. Hell the freaking dog shows get more air time than any type of rock racing event.

There is big money in what we do, but mass media and the general public have it badly classed as "redneck" "hillbilly".
Pretty boy Jeff Gordon did a lot for helping the Frenchs and improve the image of Nascar. Now if we can get venues and crowds a thousandth as good we will be doing good.
It need to be accessible to the public. How many of these events are in BFE? All of them.
