My really slow 4runner build up

darius, what radius die are you using? i have always wanted to do a cage in a first gen 4 runner, something about the tube work coming out from under a covered cab into thin air just looks cool. this rig is going to be bitchin when it's done
 
Doing the cage is alright, the thing that suck's is that the cab has a huge radius up to the highest point, so it's gay trying to keep head clearence, and even gayer keeping any head clearence in the rear without bending after the cab(and not making it look like a butt). It also look's like a canoe rack if you bring the cage all the way to the back, and 4 side pillar's is gay too, so I guess what I'm trying to say is that it's not really that alright building a first gen runner cage:redneck: , I'm pretty happy with mine though. Honestly I don't know what radius the die is, I know it's 11 1/4" from start to finish of bend's on the 2". I think it was a 7", I think it's 7 1/4 from bend start to end plane equaling a stretched clamp:redneck:
 
i know what you mean about the radius of the roof, kinda sucks to work with. i guess it's just the cool factor of the look when the top is off. 2" tube with that loose of a radius is especially hard to work with when you're talking in cab, but i really like what you did with it. i am a fan of minimalist functional cages, they always look much better than the jungle gyms anyway. and on yours, you can justify every inch of tube involved. i see too many cages that have wasted tube doing nothing just because people think "more tube=better/stronger." moral of the story is your rig is sick.

well thank you, it's not about minimalist or cool, it's in the layout, every tube disperses energy to another to another to another and all end's in the frame, sure tube will dent, you can't help it, but I guarentee after going through pirate in the sweetest runner thread, mine will hold up the best and has half the tube. I didn't want a full cage for the sake of weight, but I thought the runner would look retarted with an in cab cage only. anyway's thank's for the prop's:awesomework:
 
Got off my ass and did a little tonight, also got some pics of what the rear fender's look like, they are cut exactly to where the tire touches at full stuff all the way around, I think it look's gay, so we'll see if I can figure out something better looking. Also my custom 80 degree knuckles.

I'm still kinda putting along, got seat's mounted, and finished up on the cage what i couldn't do when I had to pull it out.
