That's the challenge in all of this. It's easy to make a rig that runs cream puff. It's easy to make a rig that runs a technical rock garden. It's easy to make a rig that climbs crazy hills. It's hard to make a rig that does it all. So the question is, "In which way do we see buggies evolving?"

Greg's buggy does all that pretty good, guess that's why Nolan had to get a copy ;D

Vangard, as for Arizona, most of the guys in the BTG group run 110-118" wheelbases already. They have gradually moved higher and higher. Chris is convinced that anything under 110" sucks out there.

More seriously, I agree with Chris. I'm not sure big and heavy is going to be the norm in a few years but I do think a 102" wheelbase is going to be relegated to whatever is considered the kiddie obstacles at the time. The longer rigs on 42" stickies will be playing on obstacles that look like two VW bugs stacked on top of each other.

(Of course big and light might mean certain carnage, which of course sucks so it's hard to tell how this stuff is going to go.)

My new buggy should fit the bill for both East and West. 106" WB, 400 hp, auto, 45* steering, coilovers, airbumps, 40" stickies. Should weigh in under 3300#. Not bad for a 4 seater IMO.

I can't wait to see what Jim builds for Matt......
