I got a 10 year no questions asked warranty with my building, so if they last 10 years and then leak, they served their money's worth in those 10 years. I also don't figure I'll be living at my current residence by the time my 10 year warranty is up either, so maybe I never see any problems out of them. I'm sure you could also get them put in the eves or even a couple toward the top of the walls if your ceiling height is high enough. (I'm 100% against windows due to thieves.) That would keep them more out of direct sunlight, preventing as much weather damage.
