Plastic racign seats - DON'T USE THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Glad you guys are ok...I quickly scanned through this thread so I may be mentioning something that has already been. CROTCH BELTS!!! I wear mine all the time, even when I'm not wearing shoulder harnesses (which I wear on any obstacle that might go bad). If you don't have then, get them installed. They will hold you in the seat better than anything else.

Should have gone with a lighter color, maybe a taupe.

Im not positive, because i dont swing that way...but i think you mean light brown. ;D

That thing had to have hit hard as hell. I heard about it around camp and my heart sunk. Scary stuff man. Its easy to forget that what we do is, at times, pretty damn dangerous.

x2...the anti-sub belts are a great investment. I didn't like them until I started running track days and realized they are mandatory for a reason by most, if not all sanctioning bodies.

on the crotch strap. If you have it and dont use it, it will sit and flop and clock you in the nuts while you drive. So pretty much if you have it, it makes you wear it. skully

I always use the crotch strap cause it keeps the damn lap belt from ridding up me when I pull the shoulder belts tight.

This is turning into an even bigger lesson than initiall thought now. Since the Harlan ER filed the visit as an ATV accident and her insurance company classifies ATV accidents as motor vehicle accidents, they are saying that they need a police report and the offending vehicle's insurance info to cover her bills. Since my buggy is not insured and there was never a police report involved her insurance company is saying that they may pay her bills and sue me for recompensation. So now lawyers are getting involved.

So I guess the moral of the story now is don't use plastic racing seats and don't let anyone ride in your buggy, even your girlfriend, whithout signing a waiver.

:o Dang dude. Wish you the best. I know that is no fun to deal with. Im assuming the girlfriend has no say in what the insurance company does legally.

No, she doesn't. It doesn't matter to them thats he lived with me for the past 2 years almost and I am the primary bread winner and that by suing me they are essentially suing her. My lawyer says that she can sign a consent form stating that she accepts all responsibility for riding with me but of course the insurance company isn't exactly forthcomign with that info or form.

I am shure you are, but sounds like you need to contact the hospital and takes pics of what you where in to prove you where not riding an atv.

I'm just doing what my lawyer tells me at this point. If he wants me to do that I will.

That is a bad deal. Good luck man. :-\

Insurance companies suck almost as bad as Obama. :afro: :flipper:

After almost 3 weeks of fighting with BCBS and her dr. we finally got her to s specialist and got an MRI today. (It took a threateneing letter from our lawyer to get it done.) She's been out of work this entire time and we finally found out why ... she has 3 fractured vertebrae. Nothing can fix it except time. She's going to be in a back brace for a long time, too. I know this sounds weird but we're both just ****ing relieved that something is wrong with her! All this time we've been in the dark, not knowing why she wakes up at night in tears from pain. The worst thing that could have happened is to go into that specialist and have him say there is nothing wrong. Thank god that didn't happen. She is finally on the road to recovery now!
