If you go to evans to wheel and drive your rig watch out for the popo in the green pierce county sheriff tahoe. He is pulling people over for any mods done to your rig. He has pulled over 7 different people that I know of . He was giving tickets for the stupidest things. From a bolt missing from a seat to bumper hieght ,head light height ,axles to wide........ Anything he could find wrong he wrote a ticket for.

This also has been going on for awhile cause another one of my buddies got nailed a month ago .

I believe there is one out there all the time and two on the weekends to patrol the campgrounds and the entrance. I think it began in May.

I guess they are nailing evrybody that they can that has a noticeable mod. They wrote my buddy a ticket for Tires to big for truck, bumper height, head light height, axles to wide, cracked windshield, non stock bumpers, exhaust doesnt dump far enough back, and tires tick out to far. Thats a bunch of bs. I heard he had 4 pulled over at one time so if your going to wheel up there do what the signs say and stay off the gravel roads. If its not anywhere close to street legal then put it on a trailer cause he will get you.

My brother got a ticket for lights on above 42" he had his kc on the trails and shut them off when he saw the other car aka poppo but it was too late he also gave him a seatbelt ticket

Your brother was out without his seat belt on?

Hmmmm,
Seatbelts save lifes. Tell your bro' to get his **** together. Don't need no more funerals in the 4x community!
My 2 cents
Respectfully, Tony

So how are you suppose to get from, say the end of the 311 to some of the trails accross from the campground?

What exactly are the laws regarding all these things listed? I had a run in with a stater about 10 years ago and he tried to write me up for my bumper heights which were actually legal cos it was based on GVW. So I proceded to show him my GVW on the door post and asked him to get his tape measure out and go ahead. He couldn't even state the factual law so in other words he was just tryin to get me thinkin I wouldn't know and go with it. But if you have the written laws with your? You might get out of alot of this crap? Just an idea?

Wonder what they'll do to me next year? I know I'll be illegal? Tires out too far? fame too high? Bumpers? What are those? Too big of tires? Mine are babies down here!! Headlights too high? It's frickin daytime?

Just above the day use area is where it is officially the ORV, anything below that (on the gravel road) you have to be street legal.

I go up there quite a bit, and have never had any issues with the sheriff, and my tires stick out about 4 inches beyond my flares, and I rarely wear my seatbelt.
