Popo at evans

I thought we were talking about how picky they are... J-walking is illegal yet I've seen people cross the street ILLEGALLY with cops near by and not get ticketed. Marijuana, for god sakes is Illegal but i've seen cops (seattle area) just give the person a slap on the wrist and send them on their way. Speeding is Illegal yet we all do it atleast once a day/week/hour. *Go ahead an fill in your own example here...* But, if your bumper is 1 inch over the max anywhere around Evans your fawked.

This has nothing to do with responsibility...

wrong it has EVERYTHING to do with personnel responsibility. play by the rules and if you choose not to, be prepared for the ticket...

i dont comply with every single rule posted above but im willing to take responsibility for it when and if i ever get ticketed.

i also dont drive my jeep on the street because i dont comply with every rule so i have taken responsibility about it.

just like if you killed your neighbor, you know it is wrong but did it anyway so expect the results.

i totally agree with jobless here i wish they would hand out tickets to every illegal vehicle driving on the street to get to a wheeling spot as that is exactly what gives this sport a bad reputation.

I ran into said popo up there, and he would find something on 90% of the vehicles on this board.
I think he is a little out of hand for a area where you can expect people to have vehicles that mite be questionable on the road but should be expected there.
He said if we were'nt parked he would ticket my friend for his bushwacker flares being to wide and his antirock sway bar not being DOT and about a half dozen other things.
This is a 02 TJ three inch lift bushwacker pocket flares 33's about as basic as it gets.

So then does that mean if you trailer to and unload at the large area at the base of 311a you run the risk of getting a ticket since legally that is part of the main road up to the camp ground?

Now that is pure BS!!!!!

So how are you supposed to go from trail to trail up there and not drive on the gravel roads Brad? Should you park your trailer at the beginning of the trail head and then run the trail and once you get to the end then turn around and run it backwards to load up for the next trail? Fawk that . When you run rimrock everyone runs the PAVED ROAD to get to the trails. I do agree that if you drive your rig up there and it is WAY illegal you are going to get a ticket. The funny thing is my buddy in a jeep on full size axles and v8 on 39.5s drives his rig all over town (Parkland /tacoma area) and hasnt once been pulled over. But when he went to evans he gets nailed. Whats even funnier he didnt get a ticket for running bead locks.

So having your bumper 1" over the max height makes you irresponsible. Put a couple hundred pounds of gear in your rig (lower it down a little) and all of a sudden your responsible...

I agree with GT TJ if they want to find something wrong with your rig then they will and that goes for everyone, every rig out there has something that doesn't comply with the regs. Unless you just drove it off the lot.

Actually not true jason--they could easily ticket a brand new rig with no mud flaps.....:;

the way i understand it is "most" of the forest service roads you can legally drive your licensed ORV but you need to know where you can and where you cant.

i usually park my trailer in that staging area and start on 311, i guess from now on i will park the trailer at the campground...

very educational thread here.

I believe where the day parking area is hip (from the signs) all the roads beyond that are ok to have an ORV on...

example. 33- 1250-15 on 8 in. 3 3/4 bs wheels stock flares the tires stick out too far and with bushwacker pocket fares, the flares are too wide

We are talking about a wheeling area here.

Karl your rig is illegal cause you have missing fender flares and the tires stick out to far. I bet if you drive up there to wheel he will write you a ticket.

I was there about a month ago. I stopped by for a nice chat. I always like to talk to LEO's at wheeling areas. I totally praise them for going there and taking care of business. Then I got in my Jeep, which at the time was 100% flareless and drove to camp.

I guess it's cause I'm in the military?

EDIT: And if I did get a ticket, I would pay it no questions asked. It's my dumbass driving around with no flaps or flares, not the cop. If I am in the wrong, then I would gladly pay the ticket. If I am not in the wrong, I'm not going to bitch to the cop, I'm going to go to court and explain my situation to the Judge. If a Judge finds me wrong, then I am wrong, and I pay the ticket.

Cue Junkyard Jim with the bs judge stories. :haha:
