I asked him about the "use pass", since I trailer, presumably I might need *2* (one for the tow rig, one for the wheeler ???).
He said it was only needed for vehicles parked, and it should be displayed there.

Thankyou.

Last time I was up at Evans, I was waiting for some folks and the FS rep came by and we started chatting ...

I asked him about the "use pass", since I trailer, presumably I might need *2* (one for the tow rig, one for the wheeler ???).
He said it was only needed for vehicles parked, and it should be displayed there.

Also, I'm sure some of ya know that a yearly pass can be had for $30 (instead of $5 per day) ... AND, sometimes a sponsored cleanup/WORK PARTY can net you a yearly pass for FREE ... (The wazuks got about 10 or so for participating in a cleanup).

yep I leave mine in the tow rig and tear off the tab at the bottom and carry in my wallet (season pass) You can earn a day pass for each day at a sponserd workparty and trade in 2 volunteer day passes for a seasonal pass

That is exactly how it was explained to me by the FS guy up there...

great Info;

While we had only planned for a day out of wheeling, we knew going there the 1st time might prove to be like Elbe, and decided on buying the pass. incase we got stuck or decided to camp overnight... we just wanted to be with-in the LAW and not have trouble, so we just bought some day passes for $5.00 before we even headed up to the trails.

the gal at the Cheveron said you need these, & you get a Map too!

good thing, cause we got stuck & we got tired, and we said - hey, let's just set up camp & stay the night.

===============================

Maybe some have the correct info; Maybe you don't need a actual Pass to Wheel the trails... but I didn't feel like fighting & arguing w/ any police or FSR so we just bought the passes. and ALL WAS GOOD.

The official word, and exactly what I was saying...

Hi Shane -

Thanks for your inquiry regarding parking and NW Forest Passes at Evans
Creek (and other areas). A NW Forest Pass is required for parking at
Evans Creek. If you drive your street legal vehicle into the area, use
the trail system, and depart a NW Forest Pass is not needed.
If you stop
and park your vehicle at the trailhead at any time you will need to display
a NW Forest Pass.

If you bring your bring your motor bike or jeep to Evans Creek in another
vehicle or trailer, the towing vehicle needs to have a pass displayed at
the trailhead. The motorbike does not.

Let me know if you need additional clarification.

Happy Riding - - -

Any questions? :flipoff:

So the tow rig needs one once it is parked. Now what if you want to park the trail rig, do you need one for that also? :redneck:
