Project "Just another yota"

Ok. I was prety much worthless all weekend due to a good friend of mine getting maried yesterday and the resulting partying for the last 3 nights :puke: Aparently I canot in fact party like a rockstar anymore and still function the next day.

So after I became more than just a blob on the couch at about 2 today I went out to start in on the bob job. I'm realy suprised at how far I got concidering how worthless I was this morning:D

First I marked out a very rough Idea of where the bed was going to be cut. That way I know where to sand the paint off so I can get a nice line with soapstone

After I had the paint all off I marked where the actual cuts would be made. I removed 16" of the bed wich is about the max you can go and still have everything work right, I use this piece of old sanding belt because it is nice and strait and bends around anything.

I use my angle grinder with pfred 6"x.040 cutoff wheels to do all my body cutting. They are fast, produce a perfectly clean cut and with a little practice you can cut perfectly strait with them.

Here's the back half removed

When I was removing one of the body mounts I quickly discovred that it had filled with watter who knows how long ago. Whe I blasted the bolt out with my impact nasty aincent rust goo-watter went everywhere:rolleyes:

Here she is without the back half. Any shorter and the back half dosent want to go back on. Hits the shackles and whatnot

Here's the section that was removed. If anybody wants to make a super longbed toyota here's a piece to weld in:clappy:

Here is the back half tacked togeather. It's just enuf to cover the frame ends where it's cutoff behind the shackles.

And all welded up. Just need to do a wee bit of bondo work and prime and tie up the wiring and that's a wrap on the bob job.

How about an overall shot of the bed now? Work looks good!

I still need to take the body lift off the rest of the bed. It looks a little ridiculus with a 3" body lift on the bed and not the cab:D

Hey Kenny...:double ****: :fuk2: :single ****: :DaBird: :flipoff:

You'r obviousley sufering from bed envy denial:rolleyes:

Ok here it is. The almost finale of this lil' truck that has taken about 10 times longer than it should have. As it sits right now I only have to bolt the rear driveline up, make a new front driveline and tack the bumper on and out the door it goes:clappy:

I believe where I left off I had the bed welded and sanded so...

Here's the bed after a lil bondo and hi build primer

This was a few nights ago and all I intended to do was remove the stupid frign body lift. It wasnt as easy as it sounds.

Whoever homebrewed this body lift welded these pieces of sheet between the bed and frame to cover the gap...
