Ok so ive very slowly been working on this for about 9 months or so (give or take). It is a 1948 willys tub and an all 2x4 rect stock frame. When i got it it had a drum brake 44 front with no shafts or gears. It had a high pinion 44 rear open. Small block chevy with an external crack in the block so when i put the radiator cap on it would spray out the side of the block. It had a th350 mated to a 20 case. And last but not least it had a 2.5 inch rancho lift and full cage. I since ive gotten ahold of it i have taken all the running gear out and sold it all off. I soon after baught a 14 bolt rear and ten bolt front but soon after ended up with a chevy 8 lug 44 to replace the ten bolt. Now keep in mind that the 44 is just to get me bye tell i can afford to build a 60.
I put stock fj40 springs front and rear under it and reverse shackled it. I was planning to three link the rear with tj coils but i got to thinking and this jeep is primarely going to live its life at elbe. So i decided to go with leefs in the rear as well as the front just to keep it simple and easy. I plan on running 42" tsls and coperhead beadlocks. As far as motor tranny and case goes i have a very healthy 350 for it and i am curently looking for a th400 and a dana 300 combo. Other goodies in the works include Front and rear winches,onboard air,hydro steer,lots of tube work, and possibly fuel injection. So thats where im at right now. Hers some pics of its current state ill keep this thread updated as i go along. Any ideas or constructive critisism is greatly welcome.:beer::cool:
 
The cherokee is cheap this thing is getting new parts not crap i have laying around lol and im in no hurry to get the willys done.
 
So tomarow im gonna finish the cage and drop the motor in ill post lots of pics tomarow night.
 
No it doesnt take me a week to drop a motor in...... I just have a lot of other rigs to work on. And i have a ready to wheel rig right now. And i am tryin to **** the whole world over and that takes up alot of my time. So suck it.:awesomework::hi:

Is that supposed to be a diss? :haha: Who said anything about a week to drop a motor in? **** it takes you longer than a week to drive 5 miles to fulfill your end of a deal, and you can't even do that. That deal is done and over with. Bottom line is you arranged to make a deal, and didn't come through with your end of the deal, which makes you a douchebag. I'm satisfied, how's that search for a hood going for you? :fawkdancesmiley: I'm talking about a completely different deal here, one that you should really come through on. :awesomework:

Got a hood from my brother in law a week ago so yeah all good on the hood search.:fawkdancesmiley: And i traded that half ass project for a car trailer so im not worried about parts for that. I have to look for parts for my jeep.:awesomework:
 
Im on it:; I ordered an artcar shifter today and a set of white face autometer guages. I cant beleive how much guages cost. I didnt get around to putting the motor in it today because the driverside motor mount was riped so im gonna go to the the parts store and buy one in the morning and pick up my shifter at the same time. Nate if you still have that seat let me know i want to put them in the back of the cherokee for elk camp at the end of this month so i could probly come out and get it from you or should i say rip it off you.:haha:
 
Hey, I left them both at my parents house for ya Chris may have thrown them away already though. So hey man thanks for ripping me off all those times though. I really like getting the reach around for all the times I have ripped you off. Speaking of elk camp you using that .22 LOL :fawkdancesmiley:
 
No problem bro. If i was anything it would be a rip off. Anyone who gives parts to everyone and even stores and saves stuff that he knows other freinds can use just to give them to them when they need it is just a jerk Not to mention anyone that carrys spare parts for other rigs just in case some one might need them in the woods sounds like an ass hole to me lol. And shut up dude i dont go to elk camp to hunt. E:corn:lk camp is right next to the rocks. I go their to wheel and freeze my sack off. Oh and see if theirs any potential rip offs i can do.
 
So progress on this flatty? What brake set up are you going with I am going to reverse my brake lines to get more volume to my rear brakes. I am having terrible issues stoping I did that hill climb at the top of 519 past the step up all I have to say was coming back down with little brakes and a 85" wheelbase about staind my underpants.
 
Im running disk in the rear and they will all four lock up so i should be good. I think im gonna stack a 205 and 203 so i will be plenty low to. When i cant get the cherokee to stop going down **** i just put it in reverse lol works fine but hard on parts why dont you put disk in the back its cheap.
