Ok so ive very slowly been working on this for about 9 months or so (give or take). It is a 1948 willys tub and an all 2x4 rect stock frame. When i got it it had a drum brake 44 front with no shafts or gears. It had a high pinion 44 rear open. Small block chevy with an external crack in the block so when i put the radiator cap on it would spray out the side of the block. It had a th350 mated to a 20 case. And last but not least it had a 2.5 inch rancho lift and full cage. I since ive gotten ahold of it i have taken all the running gear out and sold it all off. I soon after baught a 14 bolt rear and ten bolt front but soon after ended up with a chevy 8 lug 44 to replace the ten bolt. Now keep in mind that the 44 is just to get me bye tell i can afford to build a 60.
I put stock fj40 springs front and rear under it and reverse shackled it. I was planning to three link the rear with tj coils but i got to thinking and this jeep is primarely going to live its life at elbe. So i decided to go with leefs in the rear as well as the front just to keep it simple and easy. I plan on running 42" tsls and coperhead beadlocks. As far as motor tranny and case goes i have a very healthy 350 for it and i am curently looking for a th400 and a dana 300 combo. Other goodies in the works include Front and rear winches,onboard air,hydro steer,lots of tube work, and possibly fuel injection. So thats where im at right now. Hers some pics of its current state ill keep this thread updated as i go along. Any ideas or constructive critisism is greatly welcome.:beer:
