I was going to head to the meeting but I have way too much going on before I leave friday.

Was there anything mentioned to the actual trail miles we had proir to the closures?

I have always looked at "amount of land/acres" as a misleading measuring tool.

Was there any talk about a high density trail system?

I was not at the meeting, but the area 4x4er's get seems like it could have 10+ miles of trail milage compacted into the two small areas.

There will not just be 2 or 3 long trails.......it will be an area.......a course, of sorts. Imagine the Rock Garden........for 200 acres.

So I've heard......

Well Money, your 5,999th post gives me a glimmer of hope, but my insides are still all messed up right now.

Here is how I see it--since I am the type who looks to the good side of things(always have always will).

First if you were to take every trail we had up there and calculated the acres of land that was consumed by the trails I think you would be amazed how little the actual areas were. As I have stated though I have never reconized "acres" as a good measurement.

Second I believe we can still have a good trail system as long as the users continue to push on the DNR and hold them up to there promises.

Third as that maps states--thats nothing final and is for the sake of discusion. I think they are still throwing ideas around.

Bottom line we as users need to continue to keep pressure on the DNR and those of us who have/will be working with the DNR will continue to do the same.

Thats my take....

Yes and it will be a web of trails, Not drive a while then an obstacle, but more of 500 ft of obstacles then a small connector trail to another 500ft of hell

Yep you are right, Keep the dream

I'd love to hear the debate/discussion that ensued. If this is what we end up getting (roughly 250 acres, with about 50 of it within the 'blue' area which means an easy connector trail), we'll be looking at less trail than at walker. While it might be more challenging, I doubt it'd be worth it for even a weekend trip.
Please, PLEASE tell me that DNR decided at the end of this meeting to revise this draft!
I think you are thinking old school way of doing things, Think outside of the box, If you haven

So let me get this straight the moto guys get 3/4 of the place cause they can run our trails and we get a little piece of **** of to the side. "World class orv park" huh ? Sounds and looks like we got the **** end of the deal again :awesomework:

You could look at it like that.

I don't.

Nope I see a piece of ground thatis 95% usable in all directions and full of oppertunity

In ebonics "we be ****ed" :puke:

Nope.
the rock garden now is 1.2 acres and can be expanded to 11
We can build trails how we want them

Give me a couple of days I will post some concepts that I think will work with the land
We have 200+ acres with one creek, that means only one bridge.
