Reiter Map from focus meeting

I cannot see this working if DNR uses us to restore an area they have no intention to give back for our use. I am willing to put forth great effort to achieve the goals DNR has requested. DNR NEEDS to start giving use some good news. Tell use what you will do for us, not how much less they might or might not do.

The areas we are restoring are not areas we are going to use. We are just fixing the damage we have done.

I can see this working if we have large open and heavily rocky areas to play in with a number of short connecting trails to get us there. .

Well first.....you can't dis-trust the DNR and then expect all requests to be met, by the DNR.:eeek: If you know what I mean......

And the ares to be restored will be just that.....Restored. The areas to be restored are not on the map, in this thread. Other side of Hogarty Creek.

And since we all agree requests should be met......we still have some tasks to complete. To live up to our side of the agreement.

I realize that Crash. What I am getting at is they ask so much from us while continuing to slash what they offer in return. At the current rate it seems as though by the time the restoration is complete and " trail building" begins they will be handing us a draft that is nothing more than a pile of railroad ties in the parking lot of the Gold Bar Grocery.

The DNR didn't slash the area......the hired trail designers did. The DNR will have to approve it though........you can all be pissed, then.:redneck:

The usable 4x4 area is not up for negotiation. Realize this and try to see the big picture.

**** the sierra club and all organizations like it! & **** the DNR!!! Hatred pumping through my veins

x2 all this talk about being re-opened, limiting our area to wheel, volunteering to fix the trails we ripped up. Anyone have hard evidence that Reiter will re-opened? Any hard evidence that a company is REALLY deisigning new trails?

I see no evidence of any of these. I see volunteers helping restore old Reiter. What about new Reiter?

The big picture is that it probably won't support the traffic and have a thousand bootleg trails in a few years, I hate to rain on the parade but that is just a fact that is being overlooked, If there are not enough trail systems to support the regional ORV's then they will find their own places to wheel I guarantee it. I am all for working with the DNR, but seriously, somebody needs to let these folks know what they are in for, because people aren't going to stop wheeling. :;

Ask allot form us? Well alot of us have taken from reiter in its usage for a good many years--time to pay some of that back.

But you can be negative all you wish--I won't. I ate my meal and now I am paying for the tab..

Ya, like crash said early on, i look at it in trail mileage and not acres. naches could probably be clumped into a FAR smaller area and still have he same amount of trail length. But are the new and old mileages going to be comparable?:corn:

We don't know but are pushing for as much as we can get.

It's not like you were taking from a legitimate food source though. :stirpot:

So if Reiter is closed to motor use why are motorcycles up there. Went hiking up there and saw 15 to 20 motorcycles. WTF! And then on the way out you could see trucks that bike were in down the road by some of the house's. They come in at the gate under the powerlines.

I think that we did get the raw end of the deal. I see as soon as it opens back up that you will see more and more trails made by motorcycles. You can still see them now. They are everywhere. Are they involved in the rehab. If so they haven't got the word out to the rest of there folks.

If its reopens we will see this and the greenies will just close it again. I miss reiter and want it back.

Oh and there is no cops up there that care. or the ones I saw
