Hollytree suckssssss compared to Hale Mtn, and most every other park. Lol. Hale is a badass yota crawler park.

While yer waitin' on shipping, here's some brain food you can thumb through. It's my long ass thread troubleshooting this crap.

one of my quotes from long thread.

Alright, here's what we've tried/checked so far.

Main thing we do not have an answer to is the fact that it pulls plenty vacuum where the air filter mounts onto the mixer, but if you unhook the propane hose at the vaporizer that runs to the mixer, there seems to be zero vacuum pulling through that hose.

We've bypassed the filter and the solenoid in the propane supply line, both are working properly and it made no difference bypassing them.

We took the mixer and carb off of the intake, inspected everything, and put it back together with new gaskets....made no difference.

Checked every possible vacuum line, lines/hoses are in good shape with secure, sealed connections.

Took the vaporizer apart and there was a decent bit of oil in it, probably from the flop. The little sponge was totally saturated in oil, along with all the diaphragm parts. All diaphragm parts have been thoroughly cleaned and the sponge cleaned and restored....no difference.

Sprayed brake cleaner all around the intake where it mounts to the head while cranking, with no results in terms of firing. Does not appear that intake gasket would be the problem.

Take the air filter off and block off the hole with your hand and it will try to fire immediately....so that tells me there plenty of vacuum there, it's just not getting any at the propane hose that connects to the mixer.

If holding the button down on the vaporizer while cranking, it will crank and continue to run smooth and fine until throttle is decreased and it runs rather choppy at low rpm's, ultimately going dead if throttle is continuously decreased.

I still haven't had time during the day to call Buddy, but that's my next step. I'm completely frustrated with this, as I can't think of any other things that could possibly be wrong. We plan to do a compression test just for shits and giggles to make sure there isn't an issue with piston rings. It doesn't smoke at all and this issue happened so abruptly, I don't believe there's an issue there. I don't fawking know....pisses me off. Maybe there's something wrong with the mixer? The mixer is such a simple part, it's also hard for me to think there's something wrong there, too.

Here is the link to the thread.

Also see this post quote below. I wouldn't be surpsised if you got a diaphragm from buddy, that you get it in time to put it in, and go ride Saturday if that fixes your problem.

It's fixed bygawd! Ordered new 225 mixer diaphragm from Buddy yesterday at 4:45pm and it was on my doorstep this morning. Installed and sumbitch crunk right up and idled like a champ.

Comparing the old one and the new one (which is made out of different, hopefully better material), best I can gather is the old one was just sort of "stretched out" and flimsy. If there's a pin hole in it, you need a microscope to tell it, because I cleaned it thoroughly and checked it up close up against a light. The perimeter seal of it, was good too. But anyways, here's pic of the new diaphragm.

Old one for immediate reference. (Without hardware attached to it)

Also from what I have gathered, there are name brand diaphragms and generics which tend to run cheaper prices. I figure the generics are made from cheaper materials which "wear out" sooner. My vaporizer and mixer setup is not an IMPCO, which I presume is a solid brand, so the old diaphragm was generic because the vaporizer and the mixer themselves are both generic. I guess it's just another backing fact of "you get what you pay for"

Glad to have all this documented for anyone else that may encounter propane problems, especially Buddy's posts. Thanks again, Buddy!

Hollytree is not huge but there's some potential for some good crawling trails.. Kinda private which I like..

We got permission to cut some trails.

Yeah I've done about everything you have too with no results. I ordered one off the internet, but I need to call Buddy and see if he can get me another one by Sat..

LOL You didn't call Buddy first?! Shame on you.... molaugh

If the same guy still owns Hollytree, that's the only way new trails are gonna be cut. He damn sure ain't gonna do anything there to better the place. We went through the same thing there a few years ago. I won't be back there. Piss poor business management.

I work 3rd so I slept all day..

Sucks cause it has potential to be a decent 1-day ride park..

It's gonna get better.. Me and a couple buddies have made good friends with the land owner and he's gonna let us cut and name a bunch of trails. One friend have already put a camper up there and another is about to.. It's not huge but there's some potential for some good crawlin trails. Not much hill killin though.. We found a couple ledges that are gonna make a hard hard trail, plus there's a bad ass creek bed trail on the other side of the mountain that I don't think many know about..

At the top of the park where the SRRS bounty hill was there should really be a trail cut all around that , tons of hill killin possibilities.

If you go past the sign in , halfway between it and Russ' house there is a spot where it was logged there is an old creek bed and goes up to some beautiful caves.

Hollytree could be a great park and I'd like to take the samurai there one day when there are more trails cut.

That's on the opposite side of the road as the check in, right ?

No when you check in at the little cabin and then cross the creek on the same side of the road, turn right, and drive about 200 yards and you'll see it at about 10:00.. It's goes up the the mountain.. I think there's a pile of dirt on the end of the field and the access road is right behind it.

I'm really dying to come to Hale Mtn.. Huntsville has a lot of rocks and if it's anything like Hollytree, but bigger, it'll be fun!

I'll make it up there soon. I'm almost ready to ride..

Gonna order a set of RCVs in the next couple weeks..

Hollytree has some fun stuff for sure, we used to go there quite a bit.

Hale has waaaaay more exposed rock, creekbeds, and so on.

Let me know next time y'all go to either one. I'm 30 min from Hale and 35-40 min from Holly.

Y'all lucky bastards. I do have to say that white rock y'all have nearly zero traction. Very similar to AOP. Feels good to your hands but tires just don't like it. The stair steps where the Rubicon spent the most time there at the end look the slickest but I'm sure there's more traction to be had there than on the bottom section. Crazy...

Not yet.. I cut the bedsides off the other day and have started cleaning up the frame and stuff..

I really think I'm just gonna do a really simple tube bed and not even worry about bedsides right now..

Well I think the diaphragm helped, but it definitely didn't fix it...

I did get it to idle very roughly.. but it would die or back fire when I would try and give it gas or anything..

Can anyone tell me what your mixture screw on the regulator is set to? Like count the turns all the way in from where you are now.. I think I've tried the full spectrum, but wanna get in a ballpark range before I keep trying..

I'm about to burn this thing to the ground and scrap whats left! :****:

That's for an RE but should give you a good picture and idea of the 2 adjustments on the mixer.
