did ya guys get your front 60 brackets all welded? i wanted to stop by today to check it out but ran out of time.

the start of the process. preheat to 600 Deg F for at least an hour, maintain heat while welding, beat the piss out of the face of the weld as it cools, grind out any defects and reweld, cool slowly over three hours. how hard could it be?

well its all done, and i did it all by myself so if it rips off i guess its nobodys fault but my own.

set the welder to DC negative. went at it and im pretty proud how well it turned out.

took lots of cans of paint, 13 primer and 13 top coat so 23 total on just the chassis, well and the floor since shooting round tube most of the paint goes into the air and falls on the ground.

Looking good :awesomework: Are the body panels going to be the same color ?

a couple of em will be but the sides im just gonna sticker up and leave white. the rear tail light area and front cowl area will be green.

probably gonna get vinyl wraps for the dress up skins... its as cheap as rattle can paint:awesomework:

your math is fuzzy at best :awesomework:

welllllll i have been huffing a lot of paint lately, :; and the number is growing dailey as i find stuff not fully covered and or chipped up during assey.

i still have the hood, grill, and dash to paint....

It's looking good though, Im curious how that hammerite will hold up. My CJ is painted with duplicolor engine enamel and it's help up amazingly well, but I've been debating a color change.

I know the hammerite is tough stuff, but it only gets stronger with more coats.

well i dropped my 7/16 wrench and it chipped it.... i slid my battery across a tube and it removed all the paint...

thats the reason for rattle can as i expect it to get tore up frequently:redneck:

the good side is yes you can just pile on some more paint and it blends well....
