Yep, sad day indeed. Now deciding on BFG's or Maxxis. Do not know which way to go. :dunno:

Whichever you can get easier, that is the biggest problem

Got plenty of time for that so I guess I will flip a coin.

Re: 44" TSL/Bogger combo

I know its not the popular... but I gotta side with my man Muchado.. id personally go BFG over Creepy's if I were getting down to the nitty gritty and NOT going with the Iroks..

I think the Maxxis are tougher then get out, but I dont know that they really do better than the BFG personally....

Ive seen Irok's ( not even stickies) do some really impressive **** on Matts Heep when he was running them, so I would have to assume a sticky compound would be wonderfully delicious.

I've seen buddy tear around and I didn't notice a diff I mean his rig flat gets it but that's the crazy man behind a retarded motor...

...but after wheelin' with bobby long at the hammers a few weeks ago on sticky-icky irok's they seemed to perform awesome. Also seen them do excelent at disney so I'm sold. I went with the reg. compound IROKs because I wouldn't be able to replace the stickies every year and I still wanna cruise to sonic :flipoff1:.

I do love the Krawler tread, wish they had the Maxxis sidewall and the IROK size laughing1 never a perfect tire out there nadda one!

IROK sticky thread...

Re: 44" TSL/Bogger combo

I think they are all real close in performance, but I am going to run BFG's next go around so I can actually have a real-world comparison. John didn't think mine worked as well as his in Clayton, but comparing our rigs is like apples and watermelons! The only way to compare is to run them on the exact same rig and see

Your absolutely right there... watching tires on this rig compared to that rig just doesnt do justice. Be interesting to see what you find out.

Re: 44" TSL/Bogger combo

matt, we could always do a one day swap if we are wheeling the same place for two days together. I'd like to try maxxis on mine.

I'm still blown away by the places the stickies will let me go. **** I look at and think no way, this is going to hurt, and then damn near walk it.

I think it's a combination of a well built rig as well... your rig would do great with normal compound tires as well.

After seeing sticky tires work on Matt's and John G's rigs here in the SE I'm sold. Actually, I was sold on 'em when the internet told me they were the best thing ever. laughing1 From what I've seen real world, Krawlers are the best. I'd like to see how the Iroks do in a crawling situation, I've heard awesome things about them from the west coast boys. My buddy Jake got some of the 37 Trxus stickies for his yota and I really noticed a difference and he wasn't even wheelin' in heavy rock. The tires after one rotation on the rock would be completely clean and black, no need to spin hardly at all. I believe the Irok has the exact same compound so they will probably be very impressive.

that bein said I don't think that stickies will do much better/if any better in a rock bouncing situation... I have a feeling those bastards will just melt from the heat laughing1

Well hopefully this time next year we will see. ROCK BOUNCER FOR LIFE pepper.gif

heard the first discouraging words about the creepies last weekend - and heard it alot.
The krawlers flat out spanked the creepies on every rig at hannibal for Werock and RROCK - it was slightly wet/muddy both weekends and those rocks get slick

However those that new how to break in thier creepies did just as well as the krawlers - sounded like 75% of the people were on creepies and bfg had the top finishes. But that 80% of those on creepies had not broke in their tires.

the boxy design of the creepies and the close tread blocks coupled with the soft durometer cause them to fold onto themselves at low pressure - the 2 tread blocks touch and the tire becomes a "slick" - I saw an footprint of a creepy in some light dirt and the tire was way under inflated - almost ZERO seperation between blocks

also on mine there appears to be a "film" or a first layer that is definitely not as sticky/grippy as what's right underneath there.
