collect parts leave in corner of garage until you have a majority of the parts

i wouldn't waste $600 in fuel to come get this thing, wait for a decent relay. It aint going anywhere

Sense is being made in this thread now :flipoff1:

Enjoy your new place, get stuff piled up for a rat rod build, then get ready to spend money and time working on it in a year or so. Then we can all listen to you bitch about how big of a money pit it is and so on and so forth :flipoff1:

matt, I actually think your view is a bit askew on this. the picking up right now thing is dumb, but the rat rod deal is a good idea. Why do you think I want one. I can do it with **** I have laying around and you don't paint anything. you just ****ing put JUNK on it....whatever you have laying around. now, wyatt building one, then it becomes an art, sourcing parts from the 30's to keep it vintage/wartime theme. something not for shows doesn't cost ****, just use what you have and peel out.
bones, dimples have not place on a rat. **** laying behind my dad's house rusted to **** belongs on a rat :woody:

I know why, you and P have the same problem, compulsive project signer up guy :flipoff1: It all ends up costing money, I have learned that in my time. Granted a Wyatt project would cost 100x more, but still costs something.

So the truck is in Alabama in my driveway finally... man thats a long drive ! Headed out Friday right at noon, got turned around alittle in a couple of spots and spent forever trying to get to my parts broker's house to crash out for a few hours..

Here's what prompted the trip, we have an aircraft at work that needed some parts rebuilt and the facility my boss contacted to do the work just so happened to be in Houston were the cab has been waiting for me at Wyatts storage unit. Anyway, this is right before I dropped the elevators off and headed to hook up with the man Wyatt ( InDaShop )

OH YEA, this gem was down the road I went back in time... molaugh

So we got hooked up with Wyatt and got the tour of the most badass garage full of toys in Houston laughing1 He and his dad have the man toys on lock down.. Drooled over the Foyt engine, the built caddi, the 383 and obviously the collection of cars and projects to be. Completely awesome everywere, Wyatt and I took a ride in the suicide machine T bucket and we headed out to the storage facility.

Had the Rivi out there and I dont know how anyone can NOT love that car, its so bad its ridiculous..

Now originally I was only getting the cab, Wyatt had a bed that he was going to salvage for other projects but decided it was pretty rough and he didnt need it like he originally planned so I got that as well. We got things shuffled, loaded and decided we needed to get back to the shop and find some grub..

The second pic is Wyatt's favorite part of the cab, you could denote the age from the layers of bondo like an archeologist or something, its insane and fortunate for me because story goes. The cat Wyatt got the truck from had stripped it all down after getting it and found of what a terrible POS it was under everything and after sometime abandoned the project all together so now I get to do the rat build ive been dreaming of doing for so long !! :afro:

PS the top and the doors were in the bed of my pick-up, the doors are in awesome shape actually and if the rest of it looked as good as they do , Id never paint this thing laughing1

We went to Goode Co BBQ and had some KILLER food and a Lone Star. Then went across the street to this crazy Armadillo Saloon place just because it looked interesting and Wyatt was telling us about the "Saddles" that you sit in at the bar. Real neat place and they had some 6 shooters for door handles on the doors that has me wanting to copy it on the front door to my house cause it was so cool ! :afro:

We went back to the shop and Wyatt took JRich for a ride in the suicide T ... funny as **** , the thing was running rough and Wyatt came down the road, got on the gas around the corner to try to slide it out, but it just kinda shot straight and he was on the brakes hard to try to "whoa nelly" it before it got a curb check.

So we helped move his dads 30 Cadi around since its huge and we had 4 guys. ( I think thats right on the year, Wyatt correct me if Im wrong ) gave our pounds said the good by's and got back on the road...

Knowing we wouldnt make it the entire way after sleeping like 3 hours Friday night and leaving Houston around like 1:30 or so, JRich and I decided we'd make it at least to Lake Charles and go see a Casino since neither of us had really been to one and nothing else ( NOLA ) was really an option since the hurricane had hit.

(Oh yea let me back up on the JRich thing, Im headed outta the Ham, trailer is hatin were I had put the elevators so I pulled off to put my spare on the front of the trailer and hoped that would help weight a little better. JRich text's me "what are you doing tonight" I tell him Im in Tuscaloosa driving to Houston and he's like, Let me make a phone call and Ill ride out with ya if thats cool.
So he packs a bag in like 5 minutes and meets me off his exit .)

Anyway, were in there like 20minutes and each lose like 15 -20 bucks and decide we are going to walk around a bit and find some free hotdogs they are advertising. He walks up random as **** to one machine, throws some money in it and hits max bid and pulls 400 bux bam just like that ! Dood sitting on that row of machines feeding his was PISSED laughing1

We hung out a pretty good bit after that and drove a good ways after that until I just had to sleep, pulled it off the highway parked it and went to bed in the truck... got back to the house today about noon and beat to death tired. . Good trip though and the collection of parts can start since I have something to start with now !!!
