• Help Support Hardline Crawlers :

...This Project needs a name build..

Exactly! That way you will only have to tear it down so far to install them rather than have to remove the knuckles and trunion bearings, clean everything and then re-install.

Got some stuff done tonight. Installed the front diff with ARB. Replaced the races for the knuckle bearings and greased them all up, did some grinding for later birfs, installed inner trail safe seal. Will get the other side caught up tomorrow.

Waiting on new rotors, old ones had nothing left to be milled. Tomorrow I will clean up the steering linkages and replace the ball joints.

I ordered the Trail Gear Knuckle Sandwich kit, overall I am impressed with the product. Also got the back plate eliminator kit.

Awaiting parts:

Rotors from NAPA, Toyota wanted $126 each
New WARN hubs from Fleagay
12in Bilstein Shocks from Ridgeline

Besides that I packed the hub bearings after installing the races. Also installed some new wheel studs. Then for shits and giggles put a spindle nut on each one and mounted the wheels up...and it sits on its own in the front for the time being.

Next up:

Flip the front springs
figure out drag link and what not, the factory stuff will get bent and beat to death.

That's what I am running Chris, only I have double arms on both sides for the hydro-assist. Luke makes really good stuff.

Late night.

Front:
Springs have been flipped, axle is about 2.5 inches further forward.
Tie Rod installed
Ford Shock towers burned in and braced

IMAG0112_zps03a306c5.jpg

Rear:
Flipped the rear springs as well, another 2.5 inches. Total stretch is about 5 inches between the front and rear.
Diff installed into axle housing new gears and an ARB locker installed
Shackle hangers and braces welded up. I used factory frame measurements to get it right

Need to install one new rear wheel stud then I can install the axles and caliper/rotors.

Hey Kyle -

I haven't taken the time to figure out how to post pics here. :)

Most of the mechanical stuff is done with the exception of plumbing the brakes from the master cylinder out to the axles. Then it's on to the wiring. The fuel injection/delivery is done as is the steering and cooling. Just about ready to take the body off to finish a few things.

Send me a PM with your e-mail and I'll get some pics to you.

First off, thanks ARB..your instructions suck. Thank goodness a quick MUD search helped out.

*Note when installing an ARB RD153 with 4:88's into the rear axle...grind a couple teeth off so you can get the cross shaft and thrust block out and the C-Clips in.

---reserved for pictures of said installation once the wife gets them off her card---

Rear axles in and passenger side rotor and caliper installed. Drivers side has an issue with the spring pack getting in the way of the caliper bolt lining up and going in.

Painted the Nitro diff cover with the same high temp engine enamel I used on the tie rod and engine compartment.

Front axle is just waiting on the rotors, new Warn hubs came in.

you forgot to bust out Nitro about that crush sleeve/spacer in your master install kit :fawkdancesmiley:

that diff cover turned out tha tits :awesomework:

Good call, thanks Nitro..Master install kit I ordered while deployed had crush sleeves..Nitro realized this was garbage and changed the kits to have the solid spacers...yup had to buy the spacers for both front and rear. Thanks for selling me an inferior product and then making me pay more for what you now have in the install kits. ----END RANT----
