It's high miles and I think the price is a little steep for an 02 but I would consider this for the right price. 8.1/ 6spd are hard to find up here. The trucks I've been looking at will put me in the truck payments for awhile and this thing I wouldnt have to worry about that. But buying something like this is always risky unless I go find out that whoever built it actually knew what they were doing.

No way I would buy a truck with 190k miles on it. Maybe that's just me, but that's like spending a quarter to try to save a dime. Shits wearing out at 190k. Regardless if tje motor runs good, you would still be buying a 12 year old truck with nearly 200k miles. Then when you want to sell it, you won't be able to get your money back out of it. Not a wise decision in my opinion, but everybody doesn't think like me. I would rather have a 6.0L 2003 and up body style with less than 100k miles, than an 8.1 with nearly 200k

I'm really just getting bored at looking at newer trucks and looking for a deal. Chances are I'd go look at that truck and realize how worn out it is and be right back at looking at new trucks.

Another thing I found when I was shopping is, I'm not sure if you are financing or not, but the ways the terms and interest rates are on vehicles that I could buy something In the mid 2000's, with a bunch of miles, and have a $400 payment, or I could buy something a couple years old with low miles for the same payment, granted I will be paying a couple years longer with the newer truck, but I felt that I was better off to buy the newer truck, rather than deal with the upkeep of the older one with the same payment

They had 60 months 0% financing or 1200 cash rebate on top of me getting another $1000 off for trading in another chevy. I would really like to say a 4wd w/t crew cab pop up as a certified pre-owned. I've just got so bored at looking at new trucks that I was looking at all kinds of different **** for fun tonight including a 24ft uhaul.

Saw the one I posted eArlier at the Walmart. Apparently the dealership has added a plow and is using it to plow the dealership lot. Looks bad ass w the plow, but I can't imagine paying that much for something that's been used to plow.

Yeah when I called on it that's what they said they were doing with it. They got it from an auction and it came from Texas according to CarFax. Averaged like 50k a year so I'm guessing it was someone running around oilfields? I was looking at newer trucks and now I'm back to older big block suburbans. I change my mind a lot lol.

Found a 2004 with 47k miles at a dealer. Truck is pretty much identical to the 05 Dmax I drove at the same dealer ship but I got for 7 grand less. This thing should pull anything I would ever want with the 8.1 and 4.10 gears. Now I need to find wheels and tires

Even before I got into four wheeling and hauling my rig I never was that in to diesels. Id go to tractor pulls and I was always more excited to see the gas trucks. I haul fuel for a living and I don't like hauling diesel for some odd reason either. I don't know what it is but I've just never been a fan of anything related to diesel fuel unless its a semi truck.

Look into Ballistic Offroad wheels, they have some badass designs! I have the Ballistic Hyjaks on mine with 33/12.50/20 m/t's. Lots of folks run 35's but if you get a 35/12.50, they will scrub like **** bc they are so wide. 33/12.50's look a lot bigger because they are much wider than a standard 285/75/16 which is like a skinny 33. Plus a 33 won't offset your gear ratio by much and are a tad cheaper/more options out there, than a 35. I'd def go with 20's. Afermarket wheels just look gay to me if they aren't at least a 20. Tires for 20's are not higher than others like 18's like everybody makes them out to be, because so many vehicles come factory with 20's nowadays.

34" tall tire that fits Chevy's well because it's a bit narrower.
Also is the factory size for super dutys, so there are tons of load range E choices and they are usually not as expensive as the wider sizes

My wheels are +12mm offset and sit pretty flush. I hate when wheels stick out, so get em with plenty backspacing like ^^ said so they don't stick out and look like a giant turd.

Best thing I done was using google images to see what different wheels looked like on my truck before buying. I would google terms like
2500hd ballistic hyjak 20x9
2500hd +12 offset
2500hd 33 12.50 20
You get the idea. I spent a lot of time looking through a bunch of pics deciding what wheel/tire combo I wanted. I ordered them on ebay, wheels/tires mounted and balanced ready to go shipped to my door, cheaper than any tire shop around could get them for.
