Very risky. Ive been outta the game a long time, but am getting back to a place in my life that I am and will be out wheeling and traveling again. The club and forums have always been a sentimental tie with me obviously, I know Im far away n all but Im willing to help out financially and in any way I can. " I love you guys man " :dblthumb:
 
This site was born on May 17, 2007 and it is somewhat unchanged after 10 years. The forum was attached to the club, but there is no longer a functioning club. The forum is all that is left and I want to make sure it thrives. With John gone the future of the site is concerning to me. I don't think selling it to someone we know that wants to grow it is a bad thing at all, I think John would have wanted that actually.

I disagree 100% the site has never in 10years been about selling merch, selling space or any of that. In fact I believe it thrives on because of the effort that has been put in to avoid all of that. John didnt do it while he was at the helm. It is still a nuetral zone, if Cole or Matt buy it they would have to use it as an advertising tool and while that is understandable, some would support it others would buck it and say we sold out.

Ive brought the idea up to unbiased people some that know the board well and others that know of it. And not one guy thought it was a good idea. Of course the PBB sellout is first response Let us help financially, problem solved. Ill snd you a hundo right now if its about cost. If you dont want the burden of dealing with it, It seems there are several guys heavily into the siteand scene willing to step up, lets let them and just ensure they stay the course.

I agree with this as well. I do not want to see this forum fall into the hands of someone that has different thoughts of what this sport is about. John kept this ideology of wheeling for fun and I did not listen to it until after his demise. I now know what he was really all about, wheelin with friends, not racing for money. I WAS WRONG and don't think this forum needs to be commercialized for profit. Since I have taken over the helm in his name, I am constantly working on this ship and hopefully steering in the same direction as John did and I am not ready to turn it over right now. This board has become my inspiration to get back to the roots that John showed me. Please, let's keep it between ourselves and see if the proposed advertising can help out.
 
What is the operating cost ? I know initial investment was negligible, Ill put in if the site needs money. I may not be on here like in the day, we've all had a lot of life changes. But this site is important to me as is you guys and our bond. Lets keep it in house.

The site costs $300 every 3 years, so it is $100 a year We need more SMTP relays to send the site notifications, we are maxed out currently at 250 per day and the site sends way more notifications than that. Extra relays will cost around $10/month, so that will increase the cost to $200+ a year.
 
Forgot to post. Had to renew the domain a while back. $75 was the total. Not sure how many "active" folks we have but whoever is still on board we need to split the $75 that many ways. Thanks

Thanks Matt, I will see about collecting the money due to us from the T shirt sale. This should be able to cover it no problem. We do need to send a Hardline Crawler invoice to Busted Knuckles and need to know who generates that?
