Werock help

talked with LIL Rich and werock is in need of a company to supply shot crete for the possible event in seattle this may 25th-27th. If anyone knows of a company that is out to help this is what is needed. There is also a thread on snort about this.
http://snort4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=38352

[Qoute LIL Rich]

We offer concrete companies the idea of advertising, and use of the site for special events. On top of that they will have live proof that their concrete will hold up to the craziest of abuse.

To be honest, we are looking to get the shotcrete for free right now. They'll have 4 complete 12foot tall x 20 foot wide billboards, the ability to stamp their name into the concrete, and the use of scheduled events.

They'll also recieve 20 VIP Passes every event there.

We would need somewhere around 340 yards of shotcrete to make it happen with a psi of 4,500 and ash added for strength or more psi with no ash. [Qoute Lil Rich] http://www.we-rock.cc/index.php

Lets see what we can do. If we cant come up with a company that will help out then the event will be east of the mountians. I dont know about you but I think a man made course in seattle would be awesome. Pm me if you come up with any leads. Thanks Brian H

Somebody out there has gotta have some good info.. Would be AWSOME to have an event on the west side of the mountains....

Wow. No response from anyone. I kinda figured with the amount of the people in and out of here might no someone in the shot crete business.

I'm not the construction guy, but isn't 340 cubic yards a whole sh*tload of concrete! This request is like asking someone for a truckload of cash, and they get there name on a billboard. I hate to say it, but we (as a sport) need a LOT more name familiarity and recognition before someone will donate this kind of gift our direction.

edit. did some looking, a cubic yard of shotcrete is about 75 bucks. So 100 yards is 7500 bucks, so it's about a $25-30000 donation.

Correct we have companies all over the U.S. that have done deals like this with more shotcrete and they have posted a return due to this level of advertising within the first 6 months of the relationship.

Keep in mind the coverage we get at events and the fact that we make an average 2.6 million dollar economic impact per visit to a town. Globe, AZ registered a 2.9 in one weekend. Goldendale registered a 1.8 million dollar economic impact.

well, if there is such a big benefit to the local economy... you'd think just in the advertising alone from media - dvd / pictures / people / etc, some company would jump at that.... but, if such a large amount of money is to be made? whats wrong w/ WeRock - sporting the bill?

Thats what a business man is going to ask?

when it comes to a rough $25k investment..... for advertising..... how many of you are going to be asking for Shotcrete in the near future? ask yourself that. it's not like we get media attention now, unless it's bad or we are at fault in the greenie eye's.

might throw out some of the benefits / examples that other companies gained from the past donations. just my 2cents

Well the point of this isnt to get into there financial business here Rich. This isnt what this thread is about. Its about trying to get werock in seattle and seeing if we can do it by sponsors.

i hear you, but do you know anyone that owns a company? *& is willing to do this? we are better off funding this ourselves to make it happen & once it does, others will see it's big & expect & wait for it the next year.

maybe we could do a fund raiser going to pay... & guarantee WeRock to happen here if the totals are met. ???

like i said, once it happens... others will jump in on it the next year. maybe we could pull it off from all the local 4x4 groups / sites / clubs w/ donations.
and make it happen ourselves? or company sponsered match $$$ donations.

Start looking then. I really dont care how it happens just as long as it does happen.

WEROCK, on the westside, in may??? Mudbowl....awesome. After July 5th people, I understand the schedule is set, but it is something to look into for the future, for the sake of crowd size. The group of guy's I know of that are working toward a manmade course have everything(fill dirt, equipment, property) but the gunite, the bill is 50k for the size of site they want. Bottom line is nobody is going to buck up and foot the bill, and it seem's to me that nobody want's to take on organizing a donation pot.Everybody think's it's great and want's it, but nobody want's it.

I have one question that (I feel) can have a big impact on possible responce.
What is the general area, this side of the pass/Seattle?
If you find a company/companies that want to donate for the free advert. They may want to know. If it is a northend company they only bite if it is close, or vise versa. If by chance one of the companies sell mud or has trucks and they are going to donate there service it could be an important question.

Lil-rich,
Call CADMAN, they are essentially the largest supplier of concrete in the Seattle area, I have no idea if they do shotcrete though.

Check these guys out too, Hycrete 201-386-8110. The phone number is for New Jersey but they have a Seattle office.

Well lets see if we can get a company to sponsor us first. I think maybe a pool can also be started to help fund it. LIL Rich also said if they had to they would pay part of it and have someone sponsor the other part.

Air Placed Concrete Specialists (425)-486-6635 there out of woodinville. Great bunch of guys the last time I worked with them. I think they work on a lot of state jobs so they can handle this I'm sure.

First off, there are several areas on the Seattle side of the mountains we are looking at. Snohomish is one of them, as well as near Olympia if I remember right.

We are not interested in paying the full bill because it is not our property, and we can easily hold events elsewhere. W.E.ROCK doesn't bring in as much money to ourselves as people may think, we do this more for the love of the sport. but our impact is huge

Imagine this, how much money does one family of four spend in a weekend at an event?

2 nights at 75$ a night on rooms
gas maybe $25 in a economy car
food for four for three days (breakfast, lunch and dinner: anywhere from 50-150 bucks)
beer and other drinks (20-100)

Now imagine 3500 families coming... TOPS. Our numbers through the gate are high at certain events.

then they pay at the event:
tickets ($15 for adults Let say they have two kids under 7, they get in free)
Lunch at the event: event pricing @ say $15
and if the kids want memorabilia: 0-100 (we only get royalties)

Now 65% of all our spectators last year were kids under 7 years old. but the people that were adults (35%) are impulse and educated buyers in the 4-wheel drive market.

Weather also plays a huge roll in how people spend, we held a study last year in Arizona and came out with 95% of all people the came unprepared for the weather were willing to buy anything they needed to be comfotable.

Just some numbers for you.

Now as far as dates are concerned...
Because we are looking at events on both sides of the range, we are going to keep the date until we iron out every detail and sign the paperwork. If we have the event on the east side, we are golden, if the wet side (west), then we will look at changing the date.

Regardless, if we get a site done in time, we will hold events there for the next three years with the possibility for more years at the end of that term.

you should actually have it in SEATTLE. just shotcrete pike place market. that would be pretty killer.

i'm sure if it was organized and handled properly, a pool could pull together some money in coordination with a sponsor who is willing to sacrifice a little bit for advertising.
