Who wants to race the 2008 Baja?

i think if we are serious about this we should try and get local shops to sponsor us so in the end we basically dont have to pay for anything because it is advertising for them

Sounds fun, we have talked about the Jeepspeed deal as well. I also have a couple buddies fully into the bug racing venue.

Pat, we need to sit down, face to face and discuss this some more some time :)

I already bought the 2 door 2wd donor/base rig :redneck:

I also am a 2wd fan...less moving parts to break...nice donor Avan.

I still lean toward 1400/1450 or a buggy class for myself ...but the "speeds" are cool also

I'm down to help build the thing, but have absolutely no desire to travel down to the baja. I'll be watching this thread though to keep an eye on when/if the build begins:awesomework:

Be careful just who/what sponsors you get if they have **** ass parts they will want you to run it and then your broke in BFE in a race that would suck.

Good luck guys

same here thats why i was looking at the sick toyota as a good base starting rig but im down for whatever

with all this interest in racing I am suprised that more of you dont compete in the PNW4WDA races. it sure dont cost anything near what these baha rigs do and you get to race a whole season localy instead of one or two races 2000 miles away:eeek:

thats a good point maybe we should start with some local races to get stuff figured out before doing the Baja, and shoot for a 2009 apperiance in the Baja race

Thoughts?:eeek:

If ya got 2 or so guys together...I think these are going to be a hit...

You may be right, however looks like about $40,000 min by the time you are ready to race. Heck a competitively race prepped Rhino is running $25,000+, why you would want to spent that much $$$ to go that s l o w eludes me!
If you want to go race for the lowest $$$ keep checking RDC, DRides, Dusty Times, etc, and buy at least a rolling chassis, preferably one that has been raced in SCORE (yes, even C11). You are going to be so, money and time ahead, and the Chassis will have been through Tech at least once, so it is only a re-cert!

As for racing PNW4WDA events, IMNSHO you'll have fun, but you wont really learn much.
Whatever you do, do not build to PNW4WDA Rules! They are about 25-years out of date! Buy a SCORE Rule book.

Personally I'd much rather run the desert then the trails anymore, too many people, too many restrictions!
Why crawl when you can fly!
