so whats left? looks like its getting close.

when do you think it will make its first trip out? the rocks memorial day? walker any weekend. or go down and hit the busywild first thing..

yeah after today ill post a couple pictures of my bump stop mounts. few thing to finish the cowl area, belly pan and lots of little things.

making the starting points and ending points or maybe i should say curves for a cowl piece. two different radius with two different widths. probably gonna make some mistakes with this one:looser:

ohh and the little standout for the stereo so i could fit it above the heater.:awesomework:

Looks good Hip. Is the third pic (last set) your hood hinge ? Looks like your setting it up for a folding windshield as well:eeek:
 
yes plan on having a windshield, i already made the frame for it but lost interest as i want to get it to run then i can finish dodads and stuff like windshield, wipers, roofrack for expedition type camping.

last night when i took the pictures i rechecked the angles between the two landing areas and the large one must of warped when welding as the angle is no longer perfect.:looser:

i made the frame for the cooler rack as my bender is leaving for a while, also made the pieces for front fenders.

i need to get some 1/4 wear plate to make the belly pan next.

anyone know if there are any special process to weld on Steel T1 wearplate.

its the stuff dump truck beds and tractor buckets are made from, very resistant to dimpling.

Your talking hardfacing right Hip?
 
You could hardface the leading and trailing edges but I would leave the flat belly part alone. Its not hard to do. T1 is a good idea. :awesomework:
 
I wouldn't do that. F-er won't slide over anything then. Do the T-1 if you want but skip the hard surfacing.

Its ment to be hard to slide on so it doesnt wear as quick, one of the shop teachers at Everett works for T-Bailey and does a lot of hard facing crap:awesomework:
 
mostly i just want the dimple resistance and the fact its real hard so it slides over verses digging in the the metal.

not planning on hardfacing.

i have a huge 1/2" thick aluminium plate thats big enough but its too soft.

If its not hardfacing then im not sure what you are talking about lol:redneck:
 
damn man thats a bummer about the cowl being off:rolleyes: just how far off is it?

as far as welding T1 i don't think there is anything special you need to do to the material in order to weld it... i will look in my book and give you a deff answer shorty:redneck:

T1 is just hardened steel correct? I cant remember for sure and im too lazy to find my book:redneck:

If so i doubt there is any special measures for it, but like i said to lazy to try and find the ol' book on it

talk about lazy the book is on my shelf about ten feet from my chair at work but i was actually busy today.:D

trying to decide on the attachment tabs, just weld some on or have them cut into the plate and then bend em up? probably weld on.
