So i bought a 51 Whilly

I saw this today and it was sweet, thanks again for letting me bring my broken jeep over to your place for a few days, Hip.:awesomework:

I'll get that suck-down rope taken care of for you.

bump stops are tacked in place, front winch controller in place. new gears sent to bobby long for cryo, made a deal on a detroit. have a deal working for an ARB.

kinda need the ARB so i can get a good measurement for axel length, but have cash on hand for them.

yes crunch time.

well didnt do anything picture worthy. made a ton of progress in the dash cowl area. took the heater out of my boat and plan on fitting it under the dash somehow. might have to relocate the stero some.

made a bunch of nuted tabs for the sheetmetal i have made.

things that have arrived lately.

ARB for the front.
Detroit for the rear.
wiring harness from summit.
sent my yukon 5:38 gears to bobby long for cryo and two 300M u joints.

this week if possible i need to get the arb installed so i can measure the exact length and order shafts for the front end.

tick tock 46 days till departure.

well i lost too much time due to being sick. so im not gonna even attempt to take the whilly to KOH 2010. still gonna go just gonna take the jeep instead.

so the boat heater is in place and now i think im ready for dis-assembly for final weld and paint the chassis.

so the first weekend of the year if your not too hung over come on by and help me rip this thing apart.

ahh the litle things that take so much time.

the whilly now has a heater:awesomework: had to relocate the stereo some what. had to make a angled platform for the dash to raise the back of the stereo. also made a rear hanger for the stereo so maybe it can take shock a little better.

gonna order some 1/4 turn fasteners and make a bunch of tabs for the skins.

made the first attempt at side skins and the one template i made actually fits both sides:awesomework:

anyone wanna do a quick tig weld job at thier shop?

on the angled platform for the stereo.:beer:

progress

pictures of the heater and rear stereo mount.

well back from KOH with some new ideas and stuff for finishing the rig.

decided to take a weekend and just clean the shop.

get rid of a bunch of junk cluttering the place up and get all the new parts organized and in one place so i can find them.

ordered the rear bump stops and pin type cans today.

need to mock up a belly pan.

maybe put a notch in my hood to widen out the rear so it matches the tube lines???

gettin real close now.

i worked on it some sunday. made the rear suckdown winch pully mount and welded the sway bar brackets to the axel tubes.

rear bumps will be here soon so i can get those mounted. then its just little details.

an old man once told me. the devil is in the details.:haha:

ok a few pics of the skins

not real happy with the fold area in front well but its gonna get torn to **** anyways, it'll hold some paint and stickers.:D
