Just been working away on this thing.July 24th is the next pro rock race.cutting it close but I should make it. Got the jeep out of the shop at my dad's to get some space. Rear floor needed some work for the cage to rest on.14 gauge was cut and welded into place.Next was moving the drag link to use the same hole as the tie rod.The rear hole the track bar mount was hit bottoming out on the drag link.So a double shear mas fav for the top side off the JHF high steer. Shock mounts were finished up and filled with nitrogen.

After that I checked the weight of the jeep and couldn't believe how light it was.I know the bumpers and winch will add a bunch of weight but I thought it would be 4500 to 4600 as it sat. Steering had me a little worried with the full spool in the front. But with the WJ pump off a 4.7 jeep I can steer with a finger. And with that a test rip was food to go until the track bar mount gave again.Stinky fab now offers a brace that mount from the passenger side of the jeep to the track bar. Found an awesome switch panel for a JK on Amazon.

Any more details on the wj pump swap? I snagged one a while back. It's sitting in the shop. I've not looked into it much.

Yeah just swap the xj pulley on.Pull the wj check valve out and swap the xj valve in with it drilled out to 5/24in.The high pressure has to be bent to fit a bit around the reservoir.Plug 1 of the 2 return lines. Or use it on the cooler.

I'm running the WJ pump on my xj with a -8 flow control fitting from PSC to my orbital and a 2.5"x9" ram.

Fantastic pump.

Well with T-minus 13 days till tech inspection day.We are knocking things out. Finished the front driveshaft Friday.Call in reinforcements for the weekend. Had 5 good friends change their plans for Friday and Sunday tio help.Started with a list and knocked out 3/4 of it. Down to bumpers and race comms. Finally installed the hurst short throw. It's like a whole different transmission now.

His title indicates a Pro Rock Stock Class Build, and he has bypasses. Unless I am not up to date on rules, he isn't legal for Ultra4 unless he ran 4400, and I can all but guarantee that it would not be a pleasant experience in an XJ. I assume he will be at Mid America that same weekend racing Pro Rock Survival.

Well, you're clearly more up to date on the rules than I am.....lol I have no idea. I just want to see it go fast. And then challenge him to a scale squeezing competition...Winner takes a hot lap in the losers rig....Which if he beats me at scale squeezing, his kidneys will lose while taking a hot lap in my jeep.....

I knew he didn't fit into any of the Ultra4 classes but 4400, but I didn't realize there was a Pro Rock race the same weekend as the Ultra4 race.

Although a UTV finished at KOH in the 4400 class, so there's a chance he could race and finish with the XJ.

Oh he could finish for sure, but I am pretty confident he would get punted into the woods on more than one occasion by a faster competitor that is actually in the race and too impatient for a place to pass under the assumption that he is going to move out of the way quick enough. KoH is much different animal than racing through the woods on the east coast. I would say it is more like a 2 hr trainwreck with some bumper cars thrown in. Sounds fun, but if you are the underpowered and lighter car, I doubt you would try it more than once.

Not to mention the nearly $1000 entry fee to race 4400...

Agreed with all of that thinking.
